- Reviewed in Canada on February 8, 2025Verified PurchaseRelatively simple to assemble, throws powdery snow like a champ in smooth areas. Works great if you get to the snow before it's impacted by tires/feet. Some areas of my driveway cleared in a few minutes, other areas couldn't be cleared because the machine was unable to deal with compacted snow, and the small plastic wheels struggle with a rough surface. Pushing the blower was was as hard as shoveling in some areas.
Update: February 17/25
After the recent storm, I put the Snow Joe to work to deal with a huge snow plow drift at the entrance of my driveway - about 20ft x 15ft of hard snow... roughly 18-24" deep. It took me a while, and it was a lot of work, however, the Snow Joe did it. I cursed the 100ft extension cord more than once, and struggled to get the snowblower to bite more than a few inches at times, but this little machine did the job, so I'm upgrading to 5 stars. I'm suitably impressed.
- Reviewed in Canada on February 27, 2025Verified PurchaseThis is a great option if you have a smaller drive way and sidewalk area. I live in Saskatoon SK and it does a great job on the snow we have here. Plenty of power and easy to handle. My only criticism is the chute design, it's quite short and has cut out on the side. Might not be an issue with heavier snow but with the lighter snow we have here, there was a bit of blow back. I got a bit creative and made a sleeve that fits over the chute which took care of the issue.
I also used a light duty extension cord in -30C weather and had no issue with tripping breakers or decreased performance.

- Reviewed in Canada on February 13, 2025Verified PurchaseBought this in anticipation for winter storm in Ontario. We had 1 foot light snow dump. Blower was working well until it stopped working all together. Trouble shooting was not effective. This was the first usage. Immediately returned to 鶹. Was able to do 1 car length and width before it stopped working all together.
- Reviewed in Canada on April 8, 2025Verified PurchaseThe snowblower is good for 2-4 inches of snow. If you ever want parts or service information don't bother trying to deal with Snow Joe or any of it's companies as they don't stock parts or even give you alternate part numbers to purchase elsewhere.

- Reviewed in Canada on November 23, 2024Verified PurchaseThe good: On concrete, it does really well. We had a 5 inch dump of snow recently that was part fluff and part wet. It handled both just fine. Takes what used to be an hour and a half of shoveling a 100ft walkway and turns it into 20 mins. The wet snow can plug the chute often, but a light bump on the ground and its ready to go again. It arrived mostly together, and handle installation took maybe 5 mins. I really like that the unit is light enough I can carry it with one hand, bringing it up the stairs for storage in the mud room when im done. Being 15 amps, this unit thus far has been great and I haven't noticed it struggle at all.
Neutral: It does not like rocks or loose gravel, which can be a pain as part of our sidewalk is a gravel paver mix. I wish it came with adjustable runners, but finding one that does, and is electric seems impossible. Careful where you aim the chute. Catch a rock and wow, can it ever flick it with force.
The bad: The lights worked for maybe 2 mins when I started it up for the first time, and haven't worked since. Messing around with an extension cord can be a pain, but battery cant match performance of this unit. Also, plan to spend about another $100 to $200 on extension cords. Being 15 amp means you cant use cheap cords. 14 gauge or under. Instructions also say do not use more then 100ft of cord. Something to take into consideration when thinking about the length of your driveway or walkways.
All in all .. im happy with my purchase. My back is happy as well.

- Reviewed in Canada on December 27, 2024Verified PurchaseUsed it for 3 snowfalls now and it worked great! Throws the snow as good as my old walk behind Toro gas blower. I have a cordless blower and was tired of running out of batteries. The batteries run out of power faster than they used to and was using 4 batteries sometimes for 1 clearing. I find the extension cord a minor inconvenience compared to running out of batteries.

Verified PurchaseI owned a gas powered Craftsman snowblower for the last 10 years, about the same footprint as this SnowJoe. Craftsman died so bought a SJ bc of an attractive price point.
After my first time use of the SJ in 10-12" of heavy Ohio snow (which has a lot of ice mixed in our snow)... here's my first use impressions:
PROS:
More powerful motor than the gas craftsman. It was so nice not having to deal with gas and handcracking it on. Electrical cord was never a bother nor a safety concern looping it thru the relief-mount. Really impressed the throat/neck of the blower never clogged up. My old Craftsman would constantly cog up when dealing with icy heavy snow. "Throwing action" was powerful and impressive.
CONS: The handle frame that connects from your hand placement to the body of the blower a little flimsy feeling. Felt like if I pushed too hard too fast and wasn't careful, the handle frame would bend in half... which it never did. Just felt like the potential was there. Feels like in 3-4 yrs you'll probably will have to reinforce the joints with something to keep the frame viable. If only the handle frame was sturdier feeling, I'd give a solid 5 stars
PERFORMANCE:
See attached pictures for it's first time use going against roughly 12" of heavy Ohio snow. The first cut/pass was tough on the blower. It did not cut thru it like butter with a continuous nonstop cut. It was push it 1ft to throw snow, pull back to relieve the blower, then push another 1ft. After the first path/cut, I only cut into the snow with half the opening. Still a lot of push it 2ft then rock back, then another 2ft. BUT we're talking I'm throwing 12" of heavy snow. If it was only 3" I would expect more of a continuous cut. A few times I got a continuous cut going, only to be abruptly stopped when the unit hit a concrete lip or Crack. Unit also abruptly hangs up and stops when hitting a chuck of ice bonded to the concrete. None of this a deal breaker. Found similar performance issues with my old Craftsman.
CONCLUSION:
Powerful unit for smaller 1-4" snowfalls. I'd say anything over 5" its a lot of pushing back and forth to achieve cuts/throws. Again not a dealbreaker at this price point. Just don't expect a continuouseasy cut thru 5-6" or higher. Auger cuts down to the concrete only leaving a skim coat of snow/ice (see pics). Moreover on using this unit for heavy 10"+ of snow. I could hear the electric motor bog-down on torque trying to push 12". A little concerning if the motor can take that kind of use over time with heavy snowfall. But I do have a 2 year warranty on it. Overall, for $200 and all you need is to clear off your two car driveway on a typical 1-4" snowfall, it's a perfect choice at this price point. I'm sure $600-$800 units are more quality, more performance but I don't need all that when I typically get 1-5" of snow a few times a year. I'm impressed for what it is and what it's designed fir. I'll hope to keep it for 5-8 years.

4.0 out of 5 stars Joe 15 amp electric snow blower
Verified PurchaseFor an electric blower this unit works great. Cleared 4-5 inches of snow in driveway down to the asphalt! Cord is a little annoying, but it’s very easy to use. Seems to be built well. We were missing a screw but luckily we had one that worked. It’s a great value for the money.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice looking machine
Verified PurchaseEasy to use. Does a good job as long as the snow is not too wet or sticky. Auger is easy to bend back into shape if you accidentally hit a pinecone. Helps to use vice grip pliers. The lights are bright. My only complaint is the flimsy canvas cover. It's made of thin nylon material that rips after one season.

1.0 out of 5 stars Works great in a perfect world. Do not buy if you live in this world!! NO parts.
Verified PurchaseGoes together easy. Includes a detailed manual with instructions for repair and maintenance. Under normal use the only parts that WILL need to be replaced are the rubber plates that attach to the edge of the auger. They are what scrapes the snow up and throws it out. Replacing them is the first thing in the maintenance section of the manual, see photo. The manual does not give part numbers for anything. The only parts I could find on amazon or their site are a few wing nuts and a piece of the handle.
This will work ok on a perfectly smooth clean surface for a while. Cracks in pavement, large twigs fallen from trees or small stones chew these up pretty fast. Honestly this should be sold with a spare set.
Message to Snow Joe. Do not respond to this telling me I'm a valued customer and give me a phone number to call. List the only parts that will need to be replaced here on 鶹 and on your web site.
