    Well…dang…when is book 4 suppose to arrive?

    I just flew through the 3 books out in the series and really wish it was a completed series.

    Isla continues on her quest. We do get some answers and insight into her family back story which is very helpful, but it of course leaves on a cliffhanger (I have had worse/more intense ones, but still a loose end none the less).

    I do enjoy that Oro and Grim both play such an integral role in the series…almost like they split the MMC role. I’m still leaning to a certain team when it comes to them, but I don’t want to sway anyone.

    I feel like this series as a whole so far has had twists I didn’t see coming (even though I enjoy trying to pick up on clues as I read).

    It will definitely be interesting to see how the series continues after the cliffhanger and how the characters continue.

    I did enjoy Suzy Jackson as narrator as well

    This book could use at least another 100 pages to improve the world building. It has a lot going on in it, but not enough time, or pages rather, to really connect with Isla and the turmoil she is going through.
    I love Grim and what he represents, but again, there is lack in detail and character building. I felt like Grim was overshadowed by the detail that was put into Oros character.
    It wasn't a terrible book, but it definitely feels lacking compared to Lightlark and Nightbane.

    I was excited to read the third book to see what would happened. But throughout the book, I was more and more annoyed. Annoyed with Isla, because I didn’t remember her being this reckless and foolish. So many times she decided to go on a dangerous adventure that could cost her life and the life of thousands. Then when she thought she was about to die, she admitted that it was reckless and foolish and she shouldn’t have done that. Sooooo many times in the book it became annoying. Like she was still a child and didn’t learn from her mistakes. It make me dislike her for the entire book. I didn’t remember her being this annoying in the other books.
    Also, there was so many things happening, with little back story, like too many details to make sure the story would make sense. Every time she needed something, she almost immediately found a solution for. The dragon, the augur, the prophet-followers, the ring Azul gave her, the feather, the sword, the bone, etc etc. Too easy, it wasn’t even a challenge, everything had a solution that presented itself to her.
    Furthermore, the editing was poor. I found 2 sentences with a word missing or an extra word. The augur was spelled two different ways. Very long chapters without breaks.
    And I feel like there were things that didn’t make sense. When Isla was in the sky fighting Lark, she assumed Lark would fall to the ground and be slip in pieces to be then frozen. But did she forget she had the portal device? That she could portal away? Unless I misunderstood how the device works I’m sure it would be doable. In Nightbane, Grim adresses the blacksmith as Barron but in Skyshade, he said his name was Ferrar. When he created the bracelets to neutralize Isla’s power he said when she asked if they would brake « It is designed so that the only person who puts them on can release them. And me. My enchantments always have safeguards.». Here I assumed it meant Isla could take them of because of how it was written, the «and me» part. Otherwise it could’ve just said that he is the only person who can release them. So technically she was able to remove them all along? And many more other little things that didn’t make much sense in my head. Unless I really didn’t follow the story properly.
    It was disappointing and I don’t think if there are more books coming out I’ll keep reading the serie

    I am not a fan of cliffhangers and be warned that this one is terrible. The epic battle scenes, quests for salvation, and tortured love spin a tale that is enticing and addictive. The story of great loves, great battles, and a desperate need for redemption makes this series so easy to get lost in. I wanted a happily ever after, but this series is not that. Death and destruction are tearing the realms apart, and Isla feels like it is all her fault. She has so many decisions to make, and fighting fate is one of them. Wraith and Lynx were favourites of mine in this series, especially Lynx. All will be revealed soon, I hope.
