It absolutely fixed my 99k Singer machine!

I had a nesting issue for years on a 99k Singer model, and was so discouraged using my mom’s machine to do a simple hem. I paid $150 to get it fixed, but it did it again. There is no one in my area left who repairs machines.
I made a huge mistake and purchased what I thought was another working 99k, but was deceived by the seller. I thought I could at least have ONE functional machine I know well, I would be thrilled. It was returned and refund pending. An unnecessary ordeal. ASK QUESTIONS before buying used online. If you do not get proof or pictures of a functional machine, do not buy.

I decided to give my mom’s one final try by buying a new strap. I changed it and after 5 mins of testing thread and stitching, it stopped nesting! Its been 8 years since I could use this machine and this whole time… it was an old loose strap that was the problem. I am beyond thrilled. Mind you the strap is not the same as the original. But it gives the right tension.
The old machines are amazing and beautiful. These machines can last forever with proper care!

I installed this motor belt & bobbin winder tire on my Singer 328. (Singer 328's have an "internal" motor. The motor & motor belt are hidden inside the sewing machine.) I think this belt is actually intended for sewing machines with "external" motors but it fits and works properly on my 328k.

Even though it's an OEM Singer branded part, the quality of the bobbin winder tire is lower than ones I used to buy, years ago. (It's rougher & doesn't have "Singer" or the part number molded into it, like the old ones.) but I guess everything you buy these days is cheaper & lower quality. Anyhow, it works.

I have a 1958 Singer 99k and the belt is still holding nicely but is tattered so I purchased this before the old belt goes so the machine won’t have to be out of commission while waiting for the shipment. So far I have only swapped out the little bobbin winder and it fit perfectly. I will post when I try to swap the large belt and if it fits well. *anyone posting that this “doesn’t fit their machine” maybe include the model you have for future customer reference.
Replaced the belt on my 99k, fits perfectly and has great traction so it doesn’t slip at all. Great fit! Definitely will be buying another set for my other 99k.
