    To this day I remember seeing this movie when it came out in theaters. After being routinely disappointed by comic book/graphic novel films, I went in with low expectations...However, I was mistaken. On top of an all star cast, this was the first graphic novel movie that actually stayed pretty true to the source material. It gave me hope for future comic industry films to come, especially the level of violence and darkness they kept from the graphic novel without having to tone it down to hit a wider audience.

    All actors give great performances in this film, the fact that I've always been a fan of noir makes this one of my favourite graphic novel to film adaptation ever.

    True to life comic storyline.

    This series of films is of high value - and for some strange reason, it's hated by fans of comics frequently.
    I love comics, and I can see the amount of detail put into this film, and others by this director - you know who he is, right? ;-P

    I will always upgrade this series when the format changes.

    I'll be honest, I only watched this movie for Eva Green. I'm a fan of hers since I discovered her in Casino Royale (best bond girl ever! Your move, Monica Belluci) and she tends to be the best thing in every movie she's in. The camera WORSHIPS her (naked) body. That last sentence should be the movie's alternate title. You could freeze frame any shot of her and put it up on your wall. The photography is lavish.

    And that's where the praise ends. There's no soul to this movie. The first one remains one of my favorite Rodriguez flicks.

    Dame to Kill For is on Netflix now...

Dans ce deuxième volume, l'histoire se porte sur les récits parallèles de 4 personnages, Marv, Johnny, Dwight et Nancy.

    L'histoire de Marv est assez courte, mais jouissive (les effusions de sang kitschs sont au rendez-vous). Celui-ci s'en prend à des bourgeois hautains qui malmènent puis tuent des SDF sans défense.

    L'histoire de Johnny (nouveau personnage du film) est intéressante car elle part sous un angle différent : ici le personnage décide d'affronter l'un des malfrats les plus redoutables de la ville, le sénateur Roark, non pas par un combat classique, mais par une partie de poker, où sont présents les personnes les plus importantes de la ville. Son but : le vaincre en l'humiliant, en tuant sa réputation. Malheureusement pour lui, on ne s'attaque pas au sénateur sans y laisser quelques plumes...

    L'histoire de Dwight, et de la belle et manipulatrice Ava, est aussi bien sexy que violente. Les personnages sont intéressants, et les cascades sont fun et sanglantes.

    L'histoire de Nancy est peut-être la plus "classique". Le personnage devient fou depuis la mort de son protecteur, Jonathan Hartigan, et souhaite à tout prix le venger en tuant son responsable, le sénateur Roark.

    Au niveau effet, on retrouve avec plaisir les cascades des filles de Old Town, notamment Miho qui vole de toit en toit tout en décapitant des hommes de main à la pelle. Les effusions de sang kitschs (comme savent si bien le faire Rodriguez (et Tarantino)) sont au rendez-vous, et le casting est bon. Bref, un régal pour les yeux, pour tous les fans de thriller et de Rodriguez.

    Esta segunda parte es una excelente película, conserva el ya conocido formato de novela gráfica del mundo Frank Miller, adicionada con excelentes efectos visuales. La trama vinculada de manera somera con la primer película, por lo que no es necesario verla para poder entender esta última. La historia atrapa y resulta ser más enfocada al crimen pasional.

    Si tienes un reproductor de DVD región 1 o Multiregión te conviene más comprar este artículo, obviamente por resultar más barata que al versión de la región 4.
