    Installed this carburetor on my Craftsman mower, but it wouldn’t run properly. Swapped in a carb from another working machine and it ran perfectly. This brand-new carb was faulty out of the box. Save yourself the hassle and look elsewhere.

    This carburetor, advertised as suitable for B&S 287707 engines, does not supply enough fuel to start or run these engines. If you are handy and have the appropriate tools, you can drill out the main jet to 1.2 mm, about 50% over the factory jet orifice size. It will then supply enough fuel to start and run, although quite poorly, with surging and stumbling.
