Silky saw brittle blade
Bought this saw back in the fall. Used it a few times on camping trips, was not disappointed with how it worked. However the blade is apparently extremely brittle, I mean do not mess up with your cut or it will bend and break. I¡¯ve looked around on amazon and as far as I see they don¡¯t sell replacement blades for the outback edition. So if you¡¯re thinking about buying one yourself, prepare for the disappointment if you do break your blade. Not sure at this time if I¡¯ll spend another $200 on another silky or if I¡¯ll switch to the agawa folding bow saw.

    I mostly use this with a few friends we go on fairly short hikes ~5km from a vehicle and bring heavier gear. there are smaller version if you want a more backpacking friendly version, but this big one replaces an axe for us and we are never wishing we had one. cuts nice and folds safely. the lock is great. I have used it to prune a crab apple tree but mostly I'm cutting firewood for the camp. there are cheaper options but I really like the product.

    I was skeptical about silky and didn¡¯t believe the hype myself. Boy was I wrong ..! This thing is far better than any bow saw I¡¯ve owned, and folds up easy to keep in my pack. It makes short work of processing fire wood or clearing brush .
    If you¡¯re a serious outdoorsman this is a must have!
    Only downside I¡¯ve noticed is the handle doesn¡¯t provide much textured grip , and the blade scratches it easily, suggest wearing gloves when using??¡á?
