This review is chiefly for the Arko shave stick - The Shave Factory brush seems to be your run of the mill Omega brush. A nice little package for the new to wet shave person.
First of all - let's talk about the scent. I was worried I wouldn't like it as many people have mentioned it was unpleasant. I can get how some people wouldn't enjoy it, as it has a very fresh, almost citrus / lemon cleaner scent. But, when you lather it on - It gets a little brighter and maybe less citrus and more traditional soap scent. I truly enjoy this scent honestly, though I was initially apprehensive.
Secondly - Let's talk about the performance. I read that this was a slick shaving cream. And it lives up to this. I barely had to circle my brush around the tip of the stick a few times before it began to lather. I'm sure I could get a better lather going after some time - But decided to just give it a go. Alternatively I've seen others rub the stick on their face and use their hands to lather. A very versatile stick while traveling or for daily use. It seems to provide adequate protection when I shaved using the notoriously sharp Bic DE blade on a King C Gillette razor.
Finally - Let's talk about the price / longevity. I bought this with the brush for a good deal as I could always use another brush. I do intend to order a box of 6 or something as I know a few fellas who are into wet shaving and have not heard of this. Compared to other soaps it seems relatively low priced. I would say on par with Wilkinson soap or even cheaper. Keep in mind - I am in Canada and things tend to cost slightly more here so thinking that you could get a shave stick that would likely last several months for less than a unit price of $5 is a great deal I think! Specially when compared to aerosol shave gels that are barely passable for much higher price that last for less than a month. Good deal all around!
