I have been working with cutting tools all my life and know how to sharpen them. I didn't expect much from this sharpener and must admit I was pleasantly surprised. Easy to use, no need for previous sharpening experience, everybody can get a decent cutting blade from this tool.

Works well very with large stiff blades but not as well with thin long ones like those of boning knives. The small blades are held too low by the magnet holder, one need to move them up but they keep sliding down. If the blade is long and soft, the extra part is unsupported and will tend to bend when under the sharpener side pressure.

On paper, the magnetic holder is a good idea. In real life, a clamping holder would be better.
