I was looking to get a portable vacuum that was corded. Main use for small quick clean ups around the house and in the car. I own the Shark NV752 and when I saw they made this dry/wet vac, I thought I'd give this a try as I have always been satisfied with the performance of Shark vacuums.

First impressions: it's portable but a bit on the heavy side. My Shark upright NV752 used as a canister vacuum is a little lighter than this when carrying. But the NV752 is also cumbersome to carry and move around with the canister and hose whereas the VS100C is not. The other main problem with the NV752 canister is it can easily tip over when on the floor. I haven't encountered this issue with the VS100C. The VS100C has a nice long power cord and approximately 3ft hose in length. Some may find this length to be a bit too short.

In regards to suction, it's okay. It's not powerful as some reviews make it out to be. It'll do its job on light messes; but will struggle with embedded pet hair entangled in carpet or embedded in rough material. I haven't dried wet cleanups yet, so can't say how well it performs there. It definitely has weaker suction power compared to the NV752. But this is a portable vacuum and is expected to be less powerful.

In terms of accessories, it doesn't come with much. Just a small crevice and squegee tool. Fortunately, the hose diameter is the same as the NV752, so I can use the attachments from the NV752 on the VS100C with no issues. The only tool I can't use with the VS100C is the pet power brush. Again, the issue is the suction being too weak to spin the brush head on the power brush.

The VS100C was easier to use to clean the stairs than the NV752 canister (due to its constant tipping issue). But I still need to use the NV752 with pet power brush for the stubborn pet hairs that don't want to come off the carpet. I haven't used it for the car yet, but expect to be adequate for the job.

I have not tried cleaning the unit but all parts needed to disassemble for cleaning is fairly easy to do. The option to use any bag in the bin is nice as well and fairly easy to place into the unit. I do have a concern with the hose clip that attaches to the body. You really need to stretch the hose to reach the clip for storage. Not sure how durable this piece will be over the long run.

Overall, it's okay, not the best. Don't expect this to be a powerhouse portable vacuum. It does an adequate job for quick cleanups and on messes that are not embedded or entangled in carpet or rough material. I would not recommend this at full price though. I already think it's borderline at its current sale price of $120.
