There’s a heat wave in southern Ontario, Canada at the moment, and this window unit is a 10/10. Previous to this, I had two Noma 9000 BTU portable ac units that do not compare to this one. It’s 45 Celsius (113 F) outside and it is so comfortable in my apartment. Just the one unit in my bedroom is cooling my entire place. I cannot recommend this enough. It was easy to install and it’s not too loud. It offers a nice white noise sound which I like. It arrived within 2 days and wasn’t missing any pieces and arrived in perfect condition. Some things to consider: - the settings are easy: off, low fan, low cool, high fan, high cool in that order going counter clockwise, but the grey background with blue writing is unbelievably difficult to see. I’m in my mid 30s and I’m near sighted and it is still so hard for me. If you have poor vision, just keep this in mind. - make sure to measure the window with the product measurements. I’ve seen some reviews that complain that it doesn’t fit, so make sure it fits your window. - it’s advertised as a vertical opening window, but it works just fine for horizontal. I just put a piece of wood to close the gap at the top. - it’s pretty efficient but my apartment is small. Make sure you calculate how many BTUs you need to cool your place.

    ***update*** the ac still doesnt get cold. We spent over $100 for basically a fan. Tried to contact the seller but never heard back. I would def think twice before irsering from here.

    We live in a split level house and have 2 central ac units. On the one that goes to my bedroom and our living room the compressor doesn't kick on. So I've ordered parts but until we get it fixed I needed some cold air. I live in Texas and thankfully this spring and summer have been extremely mild so far. A window unit should be more than enough to keep my bedroom cool, even cold. Its pretty heavy but inwas able to carry it inside by myself. It comes with all the things you need to install. The things that go on either side of the ac and the piece you attach to the top of the ac to prevent it from sliding out of the window. I was able to easily install it on my own with just a screwdriver. I let it set for several hours in case the stuff inside that makes the air cold needed to settle. The cord is nice and long. I turned it on and let the air blow. After 2 hours of being on it has only blown mildly cool air.. I have turned it off and am letting it rest and will try again but right now I'm highly disappointed.
