He doesn't USE it for that purpose but he stopped. I love the safety measure it has too if the necklace gets caught it does snap off... Instead of choking them.
And yes if they chew hard enough it will break... So don't let it near your bunny...she decided to take a bite out of one and thankfully it remained attached to the sharktooth, so we tried gluing it. It worked for us.
