Let me start by saying: THESE ARE LIVE PETS! As with any animal, do your research to ensure you are giving them the best possible quality of life!
The tank: It is small, only a little larger than your average 355ml soda can. The castle is cute af but it wont stay that way once algae begins to develop in your tank. This one does not come with a light so be prepared to provide your own light source. (Seeing the babies will be hard without a light source.) I am currently using a lightboard for tracing and diamond painting when the tank is not in my window. It also does not come with a heater so be prepared to have your own heatsource.
The contents: You get almost everything you need to raise happy, healthy sea monkeys. You get a spoon, an aerator, instructions, the tank and the packets you need for prep and feeding.
You will need: a heat source (either a mini aquarium heater or a heating pad,) distilled water, a lightsource (either a window with no direct sunlight or an electrical light source,) and I would suggest a plastic chopstick for stirring. If you dont want to have to aerate the tank twice a day, you can use a very low powered air pump and an air stone. Make sure you are able to adjust the airflow if you go this route.
The monkeys: They will not all hatch at once and they look like floating dust specks at first. They could take up to two weeks to hatch if the environment is not right. They will begin to "turn color" after you feed them. You can "play with them" using a pen light (not a cat laser) as they will chase the light!
