These self laminating pouches are great school supplies and office supplies. Use laminate pouches for laminating signs, flyers, schedules, certificates, to-do lists, children’s artwork and other frequently used documents. Most household cleaners are safe to use on these laminator pouches, so you can disinfect them and know your important documents are germ-free (1). One package contains letter-size pouches that fit items up to 8.9 in. x 11.4 in. Each pack contains 20 pouches. For the best results, use these laminating pouches with Scotch Thermal Laminators. When you want to laminate with confidence, choose Scotch Brand. Not recomended for use with dry erase markers. (1) Do not sanitize pouches before the lamination. Test a small amount in a corner before use, especially on important documents. Do not use acetone.

Laminating with Scotch Laminators can be fast and easy, let us show you how.

Step 1: Prep

Step 1: Prep

Make sure your machine is warm and ready to go.

  • The on/off button can be found either as a toggle switch on the back or a push button on the top
  • Choose your pouch setting, either 3 mil or 5 mil depending on the thickness of the pouch you are working with
  • Warm up times can take between 1-6 minutes depending on your machine, your machine is warm enough to start laminating once the ready light illuminates.
  • If your machine has a feeding tray, ensure it is extended in the ready position

Step 2: Place

Place your project inside the laminating pouch.

  • Center your item inside the pouch checking that you leave laminate margin on every side for best sealing results
  • Have some fun with it by stacking multiple layers of colorful paper, confetti or lettering on top of one another

Step 3: Insert

Place the Sealed End of the pouch into the machine, with the open end following behind.

  • Check to make sure the pouch lines up to the opening to prevent an uneven or angled feed through
  • Remove any objects that could get in the way of your project as it feeds out of the machine

Let the laminator do its thing!

  • Avoid pulling or obstructing the pouch as it feeds through the laminator
  • Your project will be hot when it exits the machine so use caution

Helpful tip: Cut/trim pouches only AFTER feeding through the machine

    I have been taking apart some of my kids' instruction manuals for various sets and laminating them before they get totally destroyed. For the most part, I've had great luck! I had a handful get a little wrinkled and one didn't close all the way the first time it went through. This may have been a laminator issue. It may also have been because the papers had bumpy edges (they were from a stapled manual I took apart). Most were fixed when I sent them through again, but a couple stayed bumpy. Like I said, it may not have been an issue with the sheets--too hard to know. Otherwise, these were very easy to use and the finished products look great!
