HEPDs also provide surge protection for important items such as washers, dryers, refrigerators, stoves, and lighting that plug strips don’t protect.

Compact and Affordable Electrical Whole Surge Protection

Maximum Surge Current: 80,000A. High surge current capacity for a longer service life and suppression of high-energy surges.

Short Circuit Current Rating: 25,000A. Maximum amount of current the surge protective device is able to safely withstand during a short circuit.

Status Indicator: Duel LEDs. Allows for visual indication of working status.

Metal oxide varistor (MOV) design.

4 wires (ground, neutral, 2 hots) are 20 inches in length.

Easy to Install to any Panel

Small size will fit any installed panel. Convenient side-nipple mounting.

The Square D Surgebreaker Plus is hard-wired to the service entrance loadcentre via a 2 pole dedicated 20A circuit breaker (not included). Once installed, there is nothing to reset, if there is a surge, the surge will automatically be suppressed to ground.

Note: a 2 pole breaker is used because the HEPD80C needs direct connection to the panel busbars which surge protects the entire house.

Compatible with either 100A or 200A service entrance panel of any brand, this whole house surge protector will suit any size of house.
