- Reviewed in Canada on October 25, 2021My kids enjoyed this book very much. It was fun looking for the things in the scavenger hunt along Mina. My kids had fun questioning what Mina would find. It introduced a lot of useful adjectives in Chinese and English. We love the Mina Learns Chinese series!

5.0 out of 5 stars We love this book! Fun and educational for all!
Verified PurchaseMany of you may know how hard it is to find good books that show Chinese characters, pinyin, AND English translations. We are SO happy to have found this. It is perfect for everyone in the family:
Me: Understands Chinese and know pinyin, but cannot read the characters - so this book is great for ME for being able to read books to my kids in Chinese while learning the characters myself.
My partner: Does not understand Chinese but wants to learn - so this book is great for HIM for being able to sound out the words in pinyin and learn the meanings with the English translations.
My kids: Loves books and loves this story! They are too young to read English and Chinese but they understand the language. So it's perfect for them for comprehension and learning vocabulary. And when they're older, it will help with learning characters.
AND - it's a fun story to follow along and scavenge around the house for things just like Mina. It's interactive! The kids love it and are learning Chinese vocabulary at the same time. We will be buying more of these books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Adorable and educational!
Verified PurchaseWhat kid doesn’t love a scavenger hunt? Well, in this adorable story, Mina’s mommy gives her a list of clues in English and Chinese and Mina and her puppy go on a hunt for treasure! Super cute bilingual story in English and Chinese (with the bonus of Pinyin pronunciation included) with beautiful illustrations throughout. Great for kids learning Chinese – clever way to teach/reinforce everyday words and phrases like colors, adjectives and common objects! And for kids who are not learning Mandarin, this is a fun way to expose little ones to a new language!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book.
Verified PurchaseI am a Chinese language college professor. I bought this book to read to my 2 year old granddaughter (almost 3). She loved it. Teaches a lot of vocabulary in a fun way, cute illustrations, well made. I will buy more in this series.
Note: if you can't read Chinese characters, or already know what the Chinese words are, it's useful to know pinyin system to read the English. Pinyin does not look like it's supposed to sound.
