Digital Tv Signal Meter Ease to use

1. Connect the finder to the LNB on the receiver and antenna
2. Adjust the knob on the front panel of the star finder so that the pointer on the dial points to the position of "5"
3. Adjust the antenna azimuth and elevation Angle, when star finder pointer to maximum deflection Angle, counterclockwise to adjust knob on the front panel, to make the part of the received signal attenuation, and adjust the antenna azimuth, elevation and polarization Angle of LNB, until star finder pointer no longer increase
4. The satellite receiver is used to determine whether the signal is the required star signal; If so, remove the finder and reconnect the receiver to the LNB; If the received signal is not the required star signal, repeat the above work

This is as simple as it gets. Just an old school needle and voltage signal passing through a current director. Then you find the tightest and heist path. You have hopefully a better signal. But this unit doesn't have many of its competitors bells and whistles. That give them a leg up.

The build: All low to mid grade plastic except for the internals and the two female ports to plug your receiver and satellite. This unit will easily get damaged due to the sensitive nature of the internals. So please keep it in it's box. When you're traveling. Do not drop the unit. It will be damaged and rendered less or totally ineffective.

You need to use this item on a clear day. You can use under cloudy skies but results might be skewed do to the partial interference from cloud cover. It is always goo to verify the path the satellite takes for a couple of days to understand how to calibrate your dish for maximum efficiency. You can jot down the results in your phone or on a peace of paper. This might take some time. But it will hopefully give you more chances of getting the best images possible. This is also valid for satellite internet such as star-link and other remote locations that offer their own satellites. It might give you that extra 30 to 60 mbps you've been lacking.

Conclusion: This is a handy tool to find that little extra juice your dish is hiding. With no other functions then that mentioned above.

My Winegard DTV dish antenna stoped working. I needed to figure out what is going on. It couldn't find the satellite for the life of it. I got this meter with the expectation of manually moving the dish to find the satellite and figure out what was going on. I hooked it up and nada, nothing, and the meter never moved. It turned out to be a bad coax cable and once I installed the new one, the TV worked again. Once I had the satellite dish locked onto the satellite, I reinstalled this meter inline again and it didn't read at all, meaning it flat out didn't work. The lights came on but the meter never moved off of 0 even moing the dish around. Totally worthless
