    I am a lighting nut. These are wonderful bulbs if you understand their specs, color temperature, beam angle, CRI, etc. They are perfect if you use this bulb in the right application. I have also returned many other LED bulbs because they don't match the specs (color is way off, beam angle is bogus, they buzz like crazy, flicker, etc.) These Satco S29420 bulbs are up-to-spec and keepers.

    These are also JA8 2019 (California) bulbs with a higher red light component which gives superb color rendering. These are, honestly, the best color-rendering LED bulbs I have ever seen.

    I bought these shipped by 鶹 prime and sold by TK DISTRIBUTION INC. The case box, etc., was fine. I only wished that TK DISTRIBUTION INC offered more Satco JA8 bulbs shipped by 鶹 Prime like the S22240 (1800 lumen 40 degree PAR30LN), S29450 (1200 lumen 60 degree PAR38), S22250 (monster 3000 lumen 40 degree PAR38), or even the S12429 (1500 lumen filament A19).

    These S29420 are less powerful than those above (at 1000 lumens) and with a wide beam angle which makes them less bright. I am mainly using them in exterior lighting.

    I'm a retired electrical engineer, and I've been disappointed by many LED bulbs in the last few years. I've had many LED bulbs fail after just a few hours of operating. I've had too many other bulbs that rapidly grow dim.

    It's nearly impossible to evaluate any LED light bulb on its performance when you first turn it on. This is because you cannot tell how fast it will grow dim over time or how soon it will fail completely.

    Heat is a serious killer of all semiconductor devices - especially LED's. Poorly designed LED bulbs will have fewer light-emitting diodes (LED's) than well-designed bulbs, and they will be operated with more current flowing through them than is ideal. This is done to increase light output at a lower cost. Poorly designed bulbs will also not have sufficient provision for the dissipation of the heat that is generated.

    Any excess heat will cause the diodes to grow dim over time and eventually die. This excess heat can also cause the early failure of other internal components. Plus, the bulbs are wasting some of your energy savings by consuming electricity to make waste heat.

    I compared the operating temperature of these SATCO 75-watt equivalent bulbs with other equivalent LED flood bulbs. After operating for an hour side by side in the same fixture, I measure the temperature of the bulbs. These SATCO bulbs are some of the coolest running flood-light bulbs that I've tested. The temperature at the hottest portion of the bulb neck only rose to a cool temperature of 120 degrees. In my experience, low-quality bulbs will reach 180 to 200 degrees in the hottest portion. A medium-quality bulb will reach a maximum temperature of 140 to 150 degrees. Only a well-designed bulb will operate at 120 degrees or less.

    These bulbs seem to have a light output that is truly equivalent to a 75-watt incandescent flood. The light they produce is a pleasing warm color.

    I easily give these bulbs five stars. I predict that these bulbs will perform well, over a long time.
