This was an order difficult to justify living in a 1 bedroom apartment with a small kitchen. We don't have the counter space to leave this out, and unless you planned on using it as a toaster as well wouldn't be practical to do so. Luckily while it's big enough to cook full sized pizzas, it's small enough that I can still fit it on top of my cupboards for storing. While the box was fairly heavy, one thing that accounted for a lot of that weight was a round cast iron pizza stone. It also includes a shelf for it to sit on and an additional basket for cooking other stuff, like french fries, and a baking sheet, as well as a little gadget to help pull out the shelf more easily. The pizza stone is reversible with a smooth side for pizza and ridged for foods like steak. It heats up to an impressive 800 degrees, in a surprisingly quick ~20 minutes. I guess since the cook space is more wide and narrow it heats up more quickly. It cooks pizzas so fast, less than 5 minutes once it's in the oven on the woodfire setting. If you are looking to cook a pizza with more toppings, there are other settings other than the woodfire setting that will ensure perfect cooking. You'll need to rotate it at least once, I usually rotate it 4 times for the most even cook, but that's a little extra on my part. I am not a professional pizza maker by any means so I've had a few "first pancakes" so to speak. Nothing I've made has come out pretty, but the crush always has that nice "woodfire crunch". I've learned a few things in the process. You can use the included baking sheet - with either flour or cornmeal to prevent sticking - as a pizza peel. Heat the oven with the pizza stone inside, pull out the shelf for easier access to the stone and slide it from your DIY peel straight onto the stone. I would also recommend making sure you fully dry the cast iron before storage and apply a very light layer of oil to season. Though I haven't tried it, I imagine this would be good for seasoning cast iron in a pinch, because it does get so hot. The hinge for the door is just a little to trigger happy for my liking, especially since it's a potential 800 degrees we are talking about. By that I mean if you aren't careful about how exactly you open it, it likes to snap shut. However, the handle to open and shut it is very secure and does not get too hot to touch. Another feature I like is that it indicates that it is preheating, and that it does not begin the timer until the oven has preheated and it has detected that the pizza has been put in. If that weren't nice enough, it actually gives you a countdown around the 2 minute mark to when the oven will be full heated. I love that it didn't smoke up my apartment. It's not the most versatile kitchen appliance I have ever encountered in my life, but there's a number of pizza related things to do at the very least. I'm excited to explore the frozen pizza options as well as maybe try a steak. The possibilities are not exactly endless, but for the results yielded it might be a great investment.

    Another feature I like is that it indicates that it is preheating, and that it does not begin the timer until the oven has preheated and it has detected that the pizza has been put in. If that weren't nice enough, it actually gives you a countdown around the 2 minute mark to when the oven will be full heated. I love that it didn't smoke up my apartment.
    It's not the most versatile kitchen appliance I have ever encountered in my life, but there's a number of pizza related things to do at the very least. I'm excited to explore the frozen pizza options as well as maybe try a steak. The possibilities are not exactly endless, but for the results yielded it might be a great investment.

    This review is for the Salton Pizzadesso Professional Pizza Oven, Ultra High Heat Temperature Woodfired Electric Air Fry Toaster Oven with Six Pizzeria Settings (TO2122SS)

    Ok! First things first.. this oven is huge. It's bigger than a bread box!

    I was hoping I could leave it on my counter, but, it doesn't fit. Make sure you have somewhere to put this oven before you purchase.

    We ended up putting the oven on our island with an extension cord. If you choose the same route, make sure you have an extension cord that can handle the wattage.

    We were so excited to receive this, but, it proved to be an experience.

    I'd like to say, this looks sharp. Very sleek, very modern and, it's heavy! The knobs move easily and the digital face is easy to follow.

    It comes with extras and a fantastic selection of options. You can even proof your dough, in the oven!

    Like all new appliances, this oven smelled like plastic was burning the first time we turned it on. As it gets to 800 degrees, make sure you run it before putting your first pizza in. You don't want your food tasting like plastic.

    The results were excellent. We made homemade pizza and it cooked, very fast. One thing to note: you need to limit your toppings as they won't cook as fast as the pizza.

    The other benefit. This is basically an air fryer oven, which means, you could put this on your stove and never use your actual oven. The air fryer basket could hold french fries, appetizers, or vegetables anything you would normally put in your oven or your air fryer.

    We were thinking to move our toaster and use this in it's place, but, again, this oven is big. It takes up too much room. It doesn't even fit on the counter.

    It's currently back in the box, in the basement, until we can think of a more permanent plan. We're planning a pizza party where our guests can make their own and cook it on the spot. I'm sure it'll be a hit!

    Overall, this is like nothing we've ever seen before. It's more than a pizza oven, it's an air fryer, a toaster, a proofer and an oven, all in one.

    If you have the space, and you love pizza. Get this, you won't be sorry!
