For tasty authentic tasting charcoal cooking
It’s funny because I was just watching the BBC food channel and a travel show going to other countries seeing them cooking, and this type of grilling basket is used a lot in places like Greece, Croatia…straight onto the coals/embers filled with fish or other meats and veg. I had never seen them before. They seem to get really great taste cooking that way. Then I get the opportunity to try one! Cool! It’s winter now so it will have to wait til more clement weather to try this. I’ll bring it with us camping to use. Or in a bbq straight onto the charcoal. The handle is wood so it should resist the heat. It can be flipped inwards for storage in the basket (by pushing the prongs inwards to turn the handle). It seems decently made. Not super robust, but will do the job. 20% off 24$ - comes to 19.20$. Makes sense given the quality.

    I wasn't expecting to like this grilling basket so much. It's my first time using this kind of gadget, and I honestly think that it can simplify cooking a variety of stuff on the charcoal. If, fo exemple, you need to grill a delicate piece of meat, it is really ideal because you don't have to touch it a single time when cooking it, holding everything together nicely. Instead of using skewers when grilling meat cubes, I simply place them in the basket and it is SUPER easy to cook them this way. I can even imagine using this basket to cook sausages over a campfire. Overall, I'm pretty happy with it!

    This grilling basket works great! I especially like it for cooking chicken pieces - especially wings - and spare ribs. Great also for vegetables!
    Comes in a decent size to enable you to cook a fair amount of food! Easy to clean, I used a stiff brush and scouring pad.
    Good quality and I'm glad we added it to our BBQ tool kit!

    The first thing I noticed about this grilling basket is its sturdiness. The stainless steel construction feels very durable, and it’s clear that it’s built to last. The basket is much bigger and taller than I expected, which turned out to be a great advantage. The larger size means I can roast a variety of foods without worrying about them falling into the grill. This is particularly useful for grilling delicate items like fish and vegetables that might otherwise slip through the grates.

    The removable handle is a thoughtful feature, making it easy to store and transport the basket. It also allows for safer handling when the basket is hot. The included basting brush is a nice addition, making it convenient to apply marinades and sauces while grilling. The storage bag is practical for keeping everything together and protected when not in use.

    Another great aspect is that, because it’s made of stainless steel, I can put it in the dishwasher. This makes cleaning much easier compared to hand scrubbing, especially given the many grates that can be difficult to clean thoroughly by hand.

    Since my husband does the BBQing in this family, I gave it to him to tell me what he liked or didn't like about it. He compared it to his very old one, that he has been using for years. He liked the folding handle, as it makes it easier to store either in the under BBQ cabinet, or out in his garage for the winter. He thinks the mesh on the basket is the right size and tough enough on a BBQ even if it flares up. Besides our favourite salmon fillets, he does lots more in the basket. He likes to do chicken thighs, and it makes it easier to flip over all at the same time. So this is a winner for him.

    When you close the basket don't forget to slide the handle catch or there is no strength and it can be awkward to lift the whole basket safely. Otherwise this is a standard fry basket. The handle folds in for easier storage and the flat wooden filler makes the basket easier to hold onto with less heat transfer. Would I buy this again? Yes.
