Product description
Flax oil is a versatile and nutritious addition to any kitchen. This unrefined, non-GMO, and organic oil is cold-pressed from flaxseeds, ensuring its rich, nutty flavour and impressive nutrient profile are preserved. With its high concentration of omega-3 fatty acids, particularly alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), flax oil is a valuable plant-based source of these essential nutrients that promote heart health and reduce inflammation. Drizzle it over salads, blend into smoothies, or use it for low-heat cooking to enhance dishes with its distinctive taste. Flax oil should be stored in the refrigerator to prevent oxidation and maintain its freshness. As a dietary supplement, the recommended daily intake is typically 1-2 tablespoons (15-30 ml). Enjoy the many benefits of this versatile oil while adding a delightful flavour to your meals.

- Reviewed in Canada on February 19, 2025Flax oil is typically known for being high in Omega3 so I felt very comfortable trying it and adding it to things I typically consume. It has a mild bitterness to it that was extremely noticeable in my evening tea so I wouldn't recommend it for use in beverages but it wouldn't be out of place in meals. As far as bulk flax oil goes this is one of the better products for quantity per price ratio, as ~$20CAD(price at time of writing rounded up) is very affordable when compared to other products in the price range; other larger name brands provide a quarter of the quantity for close to the same price. There wasn't anything that felt off or strange compared to other flax oils I've tried so I feel very comfortable recommending this product.
- Reviewed in Canada on January 19, 2025I really like finding oils that are high in omega fatty acids! This oil is not as heavy as hemp oil, and it has a very smooth/light taste.
This SUNYEAH flax oil is made in Canada from locally grown Saskatchewan crops and harvested to produce cold pressed flax oil. Cold pressing ensures purity and rich, un-denatured, quality rich, omega 3 and 6 content. Supports brain health, heart health, reduces triglycerides in the blood, important eye function, reduces inflammation, joint support, and many other benefits! It’s great for whole body health.
Once opened it needs to be stored in the refrigerator and best used within two months. I’ve been adding flax seed to my morning smoothies but two tablespoons of this oil in my banana/blueberry smoothie is perfect to ensure I get 7.6 grams of Omega 3 and 12.4 grams of Omega 6. So easy to do! You can use this to make salad dressings and mix it in with yogurt as well! Very nice product, and the fact that it’s grown in the clean prairies of Canada is extremely reassuring! Fantastic product at a reasonable price! Love this!

- Reviewed in Canada on February 15, 2025The taste reminds me very much of raw sesame seeds - the kind used in tahini, which have a bitter taste to me.
I've stored it sealed in the fridge since it arrived so the bitter taste was a surprise to me as I have ground flax seeds before and the ground seeds themselves just have a mild, nutty taste.
Still, who eats oil on it's own? Mixed with lemon juice and spices this makes a nice salad dressing and it's lighter in consistency than olive oil so that's a plus for me.
I haven't tried adding this to anything else yet as I do not need extra fat in my diet. But, I think it would be nice on top of steamed brocolli if you're looking for something without saturated fats (instead of butter).
This huge one litre bottle is priced the same as most extra virgin olive oils so the value isn't quite there for the price for me as I can't also use this to fry food. Plus the slight bitter taste makes it a lower preference to me than my good quality olive oil but I've got it so I will continue to use it as a salad oil and experiment with new ways to use it too.
- Reviewed in Canada on February 24, 2025I use this flax oil in my salad dressings. It has a little bit of a nutty taste to it, which I really like. It is fantastic oil as it is rich in nutrients. It has digested quite well. The taste is as expected. Overall emulsifies well in my salad dressings.

5.0 out of 5 stars My protein coffee is now bulletproof.
I drink cold protein coffee every morning these days, and a tablespoon of this disappears nicely amongst all my addins. I’d read about “bulletproof” coffee— I think most people add a tablespoon of butter— but flaxseed oil makes much more sense to me. It has a slightly bitter but nutty taste if you taste it by itself. I’m not sure why I’m not supposed to heat it, but that does significantly cut down on its potential uses. I’m a big believer in flaxseed oil for its anti flammatory properties and for better skin and hair, and it works for me. It smells fresh and the price is great for the volume.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Pure and Nutritious Addition to My Wellness Routine
The Canadian Flaxseed Oil from Saskatchewan Harvest has become a valuable part of my daily wellness regimen. This 100% pure, cold-pressed, and unrefined oil is rich in essential fatty acids, providing 8 grams of Omega-3 per serving.
Pros:
High Omega-3 Content: With 8 grams of Omega-3 per serving, this flaxseed oil is an excellent source of essential fatty acids, supporting my heart health and overall wellness.
Pure and Unrefined: The oil is cold-pressed and unrefined, ensuring that it retains its natural nutrients and benefits without any additives or processing.
Non-GMO: Made from non-GMO flaxseeds, it aligns with my preference for natural and responsibly sourced products.
Versatile Use: I find it easy to incorporate into my diet, whether drizzling over salads, adding to smoothies, or using in dressings, enhancing both flavor and nutrition.
Cons:
Short Shelf Life: I've noticed that the oil has a relatively short shelf life once opened, so I need to use it consistently to avoid waste.
Price Point: The high quality of the oil comes with a higher price point compared to some other oils, which might be a consideration for budget-conscious shoppers.
Overall, the Canadian Flaxseed Oil is a nutritious and high-quality product that supports my wellness goals. Its rich Omega-3 content and pure formulation make it a beneficial addition to my diet, contributing to a healthier lifestyle.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bitter but good mixed with things. Not sure how I will consume a liter since you can't cook with it.
I've never had straight flaxseed oil before and was not anticipating what a distinctive, and honestly bitter, taste it has. However, I think the bitterness is nutrition. It also does taste just fine in combination with other flavors. I first tried it on cooked cabbage together with some Korean chili sauce. The cabbage is good with chili sauce alone but I was surprised that the flaxseed oil actually really contributed to it, and not only by adding Omega 3 fatty acids. Tasted good, and cabbage is a little bit bitter anyway so it just melded. The texture of this oil is so much lighter than, say, canola oil. I even drank the remaining blend of flax oil, Gochujang chili sauce and cabbage water out of the bottom of the bowl and it was good and wasn't like drinking grease.
With its low smoke point, the large majority of things I normally do with seed oils are ruled out with flaxseed oil. So another thing I tried with this oil is putting in a smoothie. I made a favorite of mine that I call blueberry pie smoothie, with a frozen banana, frozen blueberries, almond butter, oat milk, cinnamon, date syrup and a little bit of salt, and added about a tablespoon of flaxseed oil. I could taste it in there but it didn't taste bad at all. Delicious smoothie.
I got this for the Omega 3s and will continue using it in these sorts of ways. But I'm only one person so I will have my work cut out for me to use a liter (approximately a quart) of this within the two month timeframe that it is supposed to be good for in the refrigerator. 8 ounces would have probably been a good amount for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars A clean, nutritious, and easy-to-use superfood
This Canadian Flaxseed Oil feels pure, natural goodness. It’s cold-pressed, and unrefined, which I always prefer in any kind of edible oils.
It means no heat or chemicals were used in the process.
It has alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), an essential omega-3 fatty acid, for supporting brain function and overall wellness.
it’s super versatile—you can take 1-2 tablespoons daily, mix it into dressings, shakes, veggies, or spread it on bread.
Just don’t heat it, and be sure to refrigerate it after opening.
It is a Vegan based Omega-3 Source (Flax seeds)

5.0 out of 5 stars As it Should Be
This is the large bottle of flaxseed oil. I like using flaxseed oil because of the health benefits it is supposed to have. This flaxseed oil is similar in taste and look to other flaxseed oils that I’ve used in the past. I like using this oil on salads. I am happy with this oil.
