Received mine within a week from purchase. It was square out of the box, and the square remained true after a few days of use, which means that the ruler slides on metal and not on paint, and that became apparent upon disassembly. The body of the base and the ruler are made from cast iron, and not from aluminium, which is a good thing if you maintain the tool and do not let it rust. It has a satisfying weight, has a good balance, and should last for many years. The only minor gripe that I have is that it is not perfect on the ruler butt edges. It has a slight slant from the stamping press, however it did not affect ruler accuracy. Otherwise, the edges are straight and sharp, and base sides are well machined. The scribe is not the greatest like most that come with such squares, but convenient if you do not have a marking knife or a better scribe handy. Air bubble in the level vial is aligned with the marking lines, which makes it easier to use compared to other bubble levels where the bubble is smaller in size.
I did not have high expectations for the square - it is not a Starret tool after all. But, it surpassed my expectations for the price. Overall, I would give it 4.5 starts if 鶹 allowed it...
