    This movie was finally released about a decade ago on blu ray after Friedkin oversaw the remaster and it was awesome to finally have it! This is the version to own however as an extra blu ray of stunning bonus features is also included! The documentary Friedkin Unut , which was only available as an import DVD until now is exceptional, the hour interview with director Nicolas Winding Refn is enlightening as well. The other bonus features are welcome but less spectacular but all told the ONLY thing missing is an audio commentary by Friedkin which doesn't exist. I saw this movie when it originally came out in theaters and thought it was epic! I went to take some friends the next week and it just vanished... did I dream I saw it? I told William Friedkin this when we met years ago and showed him my laserdisc edition which he loved seeing and inscribed to me.... a wonderful man , a man of intelligence and with who didn't suffer fools. I was glad to know him and recommend this movie and this edition in particular. What is my only concern? The transfer by Criterion , in my opinion isn't up to the job Warner Bros did a decade back. I don't hate it like the reviewer at BluRaydotcom does but side by side I prefer the original Friedkin was in charge of approving.

    This film is a masterpiece. It doesn’t have a happy ending. It’s completely a possibility three men from three different backgrounds all end up in the same tough spot. One of the most amazing action sequences for 10 minutes on the bridge. It’s just an amazing movie. The criterion collection edition just adds that much more to it.

    What a masterpiece Sorcerer is! so glad it finally got the Criterion treatment, picture quality, extras and packaging is top notch!
    This film is finally getting the respect it deserves, beautifully directed by William Friedkin and on location. Gorgeous cinematography, amazing effects, and a great story! This movie is a must-have for anyone interested in a realistic depiction of the "mystery of fate". Hypnotic, mesmerizing, and dreamy. Beautiful film, highly recommended!
