Product description

Sikaflex -1A is a One-component, Medium Modulus and High Performance Elastomeric Polyurethane Sealant designed for all types of joint with a maximum depth of 13 mm (1/2 in) and a maximum expansion (joint movement) of 35%. It can be used in both indoor and outdoor settings and is suitable for both vertical and horizontal applications. Sikaflex -1A shines in many applications as an elastic adhesive between materials with dissimilar thermal coefficients of expansion, as well as in submerged conditions such as canal and reservoir joints. It bonds exceptionnally well to most construction material without primer in most cases, and is resistant to aging, wearthering and jet fuel. It is readily placeable at 4 °C. Oderless, non-staining, Sikaflex-1A can be painted over with water, oil and rubber-based paints. Sikaflex-1A meets the following regulations: CAN/CGSB 19.13-M87, MCG-2-25-B-N, Federal Specifications TT-S-00230C (Type II, Class A), TT-S-00227E, ASTM C920 (Type S, Grade NS, Class 35, Use T, NT, O, M, G, I), ANSI-NSF Standard 61 approved for contact with potable water (Black, White, Colonial White, Alumium Grey, Capital Tan, Limestone, Dark Bronze colours only). USDA and CFIA approved, SWRI valided and The Road Authority (TRA) qualified. Recognized and accepted by Ministère des Transports du Québec and by the British Columbia Ministry of Transportation.

HOW TO APPLY?

Substrates must be cohesive, sound, dry and clean.

Do not open the product container until preparation and, when necessary, priming work has been completed.

Apply the sealant continuously into the joint with an applicator gun, avoiding any air inclusion.

sikaflex 1a

Carefully tool the sealant against the lips of the joint. Then smooth with a brush moistened with slightly soapy water before a skin forms.
