Pros outweigh the cons by far. I would recommend for limited heavy duty work but not confident if it will hold up over time yet to recommend for commercial use if it will be used without mercy. Home owners and commercial that occasionally need to jackhammer a bit of concrete.
Cons:
- The chuck that is included so you can use regular drill bits had some problems staying tight causing bits to fall out while using the drill or immediately after you stop. Could be isolated to the chuck that came with my drill
- When using the hammer setting I was unable to get the chisel out of the drill. I tried to get the drill to release it but it seemed to be seized. After getting frustrated so bad I just gave up and tossed it on the case. few days later I figured I'd take another look at it and maybe take apart the quick release to get it out. After a few minutes of trying different things I figured out that by pushing the bit into something and then pulling the quick release back the bit would release the bit. It probably needs a spring that is a mm or 2 shorter so it works how it was designed but it works how I said and I can't see it causing any damage but could pose an issue in very limited situations where you don't have a safe spot to push the bit in or in hard enough to get it to release because sometimes you need to push pretty hard.
- The chuck key has no place to call home except loose in the case and to me that is a guaranteed problem. There should have been a way to either plug into a storage hole on the drill itself or something to attach it to the cord. I've misplaced it a couple times already.
- The case could be designed a little better with a better way to store bits. It's not horrible as is but it's not as great as it could be.
Pros:
- Great value and sharp design that feels higher quality than I expected at this price point.
-Seems to have adequate power and feels nice and solid in your hands. Drilling cement with the hammer drill setting is in my opinion PERFECT. The holes were very clean with little to no side to side wiggling that some other drills have that make holes bigger than you wanted causing your anchors or tapcons to not hold very well.
- The drill setting had enough torque to easily mix a half bag of cement.
- The (Jack)hammer setting worked very breaking up the 6" pad the water heater sits on with no problem.
- When I contacted Shall about the issues they were very polite and helpful and they asked me to make a video showing the issues so they can make improvements where needed and to file for a return then they will send a replacement but after I got the chisel out I was unable to duplicate the issue. The chuck issue hasn't happened since I gave it a good cleaning and oil bath. I think there was a piece of steel wedges inside the chuck that prevented it from tightening enough from the factory.
