The Godox S2 Speedlite Bracket for Bowens lets you to maximize the potential of your on-camera flash while allowing you to use Bowens accessories. The bracket supports your flash either vertically or horizontally, employing non-scratching, light pressure rather than touch-fasteners or tape. The hole for the umbrella was too tight.
I tried to use this the Friday night of the May long weekend. I struggled to get the pole of the umbrella into the hole, it just wouldn't go in because of the metal clip. I tried so hard, as I was pressed for time, that it broke!! Had to send it back and get my money back. I've ordered a new one, but will use a soft box instead. Disappointing as the umbrella was recommended by 鶹 to go with this bracket.

    I have a large collection of studio gear, but very little of on-camera flash and it's accessories. However, I recently acquired a couple of on-camera flashes, and am curious about utilizing them with some of my softboxes and reflectors (I have a couple with Bowens S mount) . . . so, I needed an adapter.

    This is nearly perfect. It is very solidly built. Some of the sections, in particular the screw down that holds the flash unit, and the hole for an umbrella shaft are not as refined as they could be, but for the price this is very, very good.

    The mounting yoke is solid with a socket for a 3/8" and can be oriented either horizontally or vertically. The tilt handle is ratcheted so it works perfectly and can readily be turned out of the way. The unit is light enough so that as long as you don't have an enormous softbox/head combo, an assistant can readily handhold the mount by the mounting yoke. It of course accepts the ubiquitous Bowens S type mount. I only have a few items with that, as all my studio gear is Profoto with appropriate mounts.

    I am very pleased with this as it now allows me to work outside with just one, maybe two of my b600s, and supplement them with a V1 or a 665 (both Neewer sample units). That, tied in with remote of the smaller lights makes for a nice compact and fairly versatile set-up.

    There are a couple of things I am not too fond of though. One is the hole for the umbrella shaft. It is well made, but the shaft is held in place with a metal formed spring . . . which will ultimately loosen up. I don't use umbrellas at all, but it is a design point I thought I should mention. The clamping section where you place your round head, or rectangular head flash accepts a good size range, so this will be suitable for a lot of different units. On the lower, unmoving section, there is a slide in spacer. If you have a rectangular head it will afford a flat surface to grip on . . . slide it out, and you have rounded sections above and below for a very solid and secure grip. It would have been a nice touch if there was either a small holder, or even a safety type wire, so when you remove the spacer you won't lose it. there is a little spring loaded lever for the S mount lock.

    It is made of what they promise is impact resistant abs. It certainly looks and feels solid. I intend to add another one to my kit in the next week or two.

    The price is really inexpensive for what the quality appears to be. I am very impressed.

    A small detail that I really apprecited (but it isn't really worth much) is that the unit for the most part is screwed together, not riveted, so after much usage, if things start to fall off, or get danmaged, you could feasibly repair the unit . . . alas, Godox does not seem to offer any repair parts (or does Neewer, which is just rebranded Godox for the most part). They should . . . their quality is getting better all the time. They ought to take a lesson from Manfrotto or Gitzo who both have very large readily available parts supplies down to all the little nitty gritty bits and pieces.
