Rust-Oleum Specialty Reflective Finish Spray

Reflective Spray Paint illuminates painted surfaces under direct headlights for exceptional nighttime visibility and safety.

Easy to Use

Use when temperature is between 50-90°F and humidity is below 85% to ensure proper drying. Surface should be protected from moisture for 24 hours after coating.

Thoroughly clean surface with detergent, rinse with fresh water and allow to dry completely.

Hold can upright 10-16" from surface and spray in steady back-and-for motion, slightly overlapping each stroke. Apply 2-3 light coats 1-2 minutes apart. For best results, shake can 4 seconds for every 15 seconds of use.

Dries to the touch in 1-3 hours. Allow 5-9 hours to handle and 24 hours to fully dry.

After the 6th coat, the plate was supposed to be much brighter under a flash photography. It was rather the opposite. The sprayed side was duller and even easier to read. It was so disappointing.

    Used this to spray over the registration plates on my cars , trucks and motorcycles . it is so reflective under standard flash photography , like in the case of say ......photo radar or red light camaras ...... the entire plate reflects with such intensity that the image in unreadable . Use this info as you please :)

    When I spray this product on any surface it makes it wet. Once that dries, there's nothing there. I tried reaching the Seller and got a response that this was not returnable.

    Revision. After testing with a flash camera, it now is relecting light. The reflecting characteristics aren't evident when only using a flashlight (even intense LED). Giving it another chance. My only disappointment is that I had thought it would be white. It's clear, but, is also diminishing the white colour of the paint I sprayed under this project.

    Absolutely useless, the package arrived and the paint canister is completely blocked, no paint will come out of it. I tried switching the nozzle with another one similar I had around, still nothing. My guess is the paint can was sitting for a while when I bought it from the seller and it is not good anymore. Very disappointed as I have paid a high price for it (discontinued product).

    I have wanted reflecting wheels for my bike, but what few are made are very expensive and my bike takes an odd size wheel. When I ran across the listing I was thrilled, but concerned as to whether the paint would work at all because of so many bad reviews.

    Well, I generally followed the directions on the can and the result is a very reflective wheel rim.

    Here is what I did:
    1) taped off the parts of the wheel where I didn't want paint (obviously). This is a bit of work, but fortunately I was working with the rim only and will build up the wheel later. I used the wheel as a template and cut curves in the blue painters tape so I could mask the machined sidewalks of the rim.
    2) shook the can very thoroughly. This is very important because this "paint" is a clear coat carrier for super tiny reflective beads. It is these beads that makes your item reflective, if they are not mixed in to the stream you are spraying at your object, it will not end up reflective! (Think unshaken vinegar and oil dressing.)
    3) shook the can again after every 15 seconds of spraying, according to directions.
    4) did three very light coats 2 minutes apart. While I was waiting between coats, I kept shaking the can so the reflective beads and the clear coat paint wouldn't separate.

    After drying, I tested in a dark room and a flashlight and it was definitely reflecting. I noticed that from some parts of the rim (the flats parallel to the ground) were super bright white compared to the rim sidewalls. This can only be from the higher density of beads. This gave me the idea to add more paint. I repeated steps 1-4 after 24 hours. The brightness of the reflectivity increased dramatically. Even the blue painters masking tape is shiny. I may do a third round as an experiment, although my buddy says it looks great already and should stop.

    I bought another can to do more wheels.
