- Reviewed in Canada on March 14, 2025The adapter works as expected, making it easy to refill small bottles from a larger tank. The gauge and valve add extra convenience, though it's a bit bulky to store.

The product was shipped with no excessive or wasteful packaging in a bag. What’s in the bag: one (1) propane refill adapter. There were no included product instructions.
First impressions: At first glance, the tool looks great; the overall quality and build of the adapter is very good with solid brass fittings, valve, and QCC1/Type1 LP gas connector. There is a handy inline gas gauge to tell you how much fuel is in the tank. Note that this adapter lacks any CSA or UL certification which is absolutely essential to see on equipment used with LP gas; as such user beware, severe injury or death could result if this device fails. There was no safety or user information included with this device. NOTE: I would recommend not leaving this set up apparatus unattended for any length of time and only fill your camping bottle outside in a well-ventilated area away from any ignition sources.
How did this product work? Well, let’s just say that it looked better than it performed… Here is where my review takes a sad turn. To test this tool, I grabbed an empty 1 lb propane bottle that I happened to have and a fully filled 20 lb propane BBQ cylinder I just had filled last week. A new 1lb propane cylinder weighs approximately 2 lbs including the propane gas (1 lb of gas, 1 lb empty steel bottle). I weighed the empty bottle and it weighed just under 1lb (15.8 oz). I hooked up the adapter and the empty 1 lb cylinder and inverted the BBQ cylinder. I opened the main supply valve, and then the adapter valve. I then waited 5 minutes to let the gas pressure equalize before closing both valves and removing the filled cylinder. I then weighed the filled cylinder and it weighed only 1 lb, 1.7 oz. or 17.7 oz. When you subtract the empty cylinder weight, I determined that I only filled the empty cylinder with 1.9oz of gas, not the 16oz that would be expected. THIS MEANT THAT THE CYLINDER WAS ONLY 8.4% FILLED USING THIS ADAPTER. The other thing I noticed was that my newly filled 20 lb BBQ cylinder only registered ¼ of the way into the green zone of the gauge when it should show it at maximum fill. This makes me question the accuracy of the gauge on the adapter. I repeated this process several times using another half-full cylinder and got the same results – I was unable to fill more than 8-10% of a cylinder.
Cost-effectiveness and value: Overall, I am very dissatisfied with the product. Although it is very well made and compact, it cannot fill an empty propane bottle to its rated capacity - which is a deal breaker. It would have been a great deal at a current price of $23.99 had it worked, but it is not worth anything if it doesn’t work!
In summary: the “Propane Refill Adapter for 1lb Camping Bottles” made by RUSHARE gets top grades for build quality but ultimately gets a failing grade due to its lack of functionality. I do not recommend this product.
Pros 👍:
✔ Good idea in concept.
✔ Good build quality, well-made.
✔ Standard 3/8”18UNF appliance connector and QCC1/Type1 LP gas connector.
✔ Fittings couple/uncouple easily with no looseness or leaks.
✔ Includes a handy gas fill gauge.
✔ Low price point.
DzԲ👎:
✘ No included product instructions.
✘ Doesn’t work… This is a deal breaker.
✘ Not CSA or UL-certified for use in North America.

- Reviewed in Canada on March 11, 2025Verified PurchaseWorks quite well, filled 4 1 lb green propane. Weighed a purchased bottle, and 3 of the 4 came up to same weight with the 4th being only a few grams light. So works as advertised.
