The good: Finally, someone finally thought about safe blade disposal! Each blade comes with its own plastic case which is essential for their safe disposal. People don’t seem to realize the severity of damage that can happen to anyone that takes the trash out. All it takes is one slip, or one unlucky brush of a leg or arm against a garbage bag that contains a used blade to send you to an ER where you’ll then have to wait 20 plus hours just to get a tetanus shot. And that’s if you don’t also need stitches across your palm where you grabbed the bag on your way out the door.
So, 5 plus 1 extra star for the individual cases.
The bad: Even before COVID, but especially since, every company, retailer and manufacturer has tried to cut costs. While this particular brand may be new to the market, the trend is the same. Sadly, and typical of what I most often encounter and distresses me most, is that the cost cutting results aren’t immediately discernible to the average consumers (albeit vigilant) eye. In this instance the blades are being manufactured using 4% less metal than two other brands I bought on the same day, at the same price point, and between 6 and 8% less than two more expensive brands. Similarly, when compared to the “cheapest” blades on the market I had purchased pre COVID for a one time use, and was now looking to replace, the old cheap ones will have been the better buy.
Translation: Assuming all blades have an initial good sharpness to them, these blades won’t be able to retain that sharp edge as long any of the others.
Sure, the sharpness is good and the price is great, but the others that are just a fraction of the width of a single strand of hair, thicker, are better.
So, looking at current market comparable, they lose that bonus star I gave them for Safety. But they also lose another star because like most consumable goods these days, they don’t even measure up against the low end stuff we bought 5 years ago.

I cut A LOT of fabric for my business and I use a combination of fabric scissors and rotary cutter. I didn't realize how dull my Rotary blade had become until I swapped it out. these blades fit my Fiskars rotary tool perfectly, I suppose how long they stay sharp would depend on the material, how many meters you cut and your cutting surface.

They arrive lightly coated in a protective film to prevent rust, so be sure to wipe them off before installing (be careful…they're sharp, yo!). A nice bonus: they come individually packaged in little plastic containers that can be used to safely dispose of the old ones.

The blades seem to be of good quality....each in it's own plastic case...with a light covering of oil to protect them. I am new to using a rotary cutter so not that efficient at it yet but these blades are sharp and cut well in my inheritated old Olaf cutter. I have cut through 3 layers of cotton broadcloth with no problem . I have not tried them on any other type of fabric. For the price I would say these are a good value for what you get. I don't do a tremendous about of sewing but a rotary cutter is definitely an asset especially when cutting multiple straight cuts for crafting projects.
