Just need to put the can on the edge of a counter to give room for the circumference of the handle turning. Hoping it lasts a long time, it seems pretty sturdy.

    This can opener is aimed at seniors or anyone who struggles with the wrist strength needed for regular manual openers. Big tins of coffee and commercial-sized cans of tomatoes don't fit in most electric openers, and it takes a lot of cranking with a smaller one to get all the way around. This one punctures the lid easily and doesn’t need too many turns to get the job done.
    It’s probably overkill for standard-sized cans. It’s heavier and bulkier than a regular can opener, and for shorter cans like tuna, you’ll either need to hold the can up or position it at the edge of the counter so the handle can clear the surface.
    If you have trouble opening cans because of hand strength or joint issues, you're likely better off with an electric can opener. But if you already have one and just need something that can take on those oversized cans that electric ones can’t handle, this is a good addition.
