  • Just unbox, plug in the charger and download the Roomba Home App. A 2.4 GHz network on your robot and phone is required for setup and operation. After setup, your phone can return to 5GHz. Follow the prompts and in a few minutes your robot is ready.

  • A great vacuum is more than just power (though this one is equipped with 70X more intense suction*). Specialized brushes pull up dirt or dust from carpets and dust bunnies from hard-to-reach corners. *As compared to Roomba 600 series robots

  • It's just 3 easy steps to mop - fill the robot's bin tank with water or cleaning solution*, slide the bin back into the robot, and add the mopping pad. Microfiber mop pads can be used up to 30x and Roomba even detects & avoids mopping on carpets.

  • ClearView LiDAR scans your space to create up to 3 maps that you can customize in the Roomba Home App. Mapping takes only 10 minutes*, and then your robot is ready to navigate smoothly and avoid obstacles. *1000 sq ft/93m2 space

Very Reliable Cleaning with Some Compromises (Basic Mop & No Auto Empting dock, etc.)
4 out of 5 stars
Very Reliable Cleaning with Some Compromises (Basic Mop & No Auto Empting dock, etc.)
I’ve tested a lot of cleaning bots, and have to say that the Roomba 105 Combo genuinely impressed me overall, especially considering its budget-friendly price range, but definitely has some compromises in part do to it being an entry level placement. Here's my detailed experience after putting it through its paces for a couple of weeks. First Impressions - Setting it up was very straightforward—simple WiFi pairing, a quick firmware update, and the LiDAR mapping system quickly had my main floor mapped out in about 20 minutes or so. Watching it rapidly create a precise layout of my space was genuinely satisfying, and seemed better than many of the other entry bots i’ve tested. Build quality feels reasonably sturdy. It has a sleek black finish, with some mat effect on half of it which makes it look premium. It’s has a reasonably low profile which allows it to slip under most sofa’s and furniture, though the LiDAR turret (common these days) may pose the occasional issue. One feature I particularly liked is the integrated dustbin and water tank combo - the mop feature definitely makes a difference on hardwood floors, leaving a noticeably cleaner floor - something you really notice with your feet, if not your eyes. No more slippery floors. Performance - When it comes to daily vacuuming tasks, the 105 really shines with the vac/mop. It does a good job picking up crumbs, dust, dust bunnies and small debris. It also did a good job with cereal, but did have an issue picking up large dog kibble (nickel size). I also did a cereal spill test in the kitchen and it did a really good job on it’s own cleaning it up, with only a few bits here and there around the cupboard baseboards, which is to be expected. Edge-cleaning, isn't perfect but it never is, and can be a challenge even for manual vacuuming. While it handled my low-pile rug without much trouble (mop not attached), it doesn’t do a good job with thicker carpets and thershouldes, but that’s par for the course with most floor cleaner bots. It also tends to get tangled with cables or small objects left on the floor. This again is a common issue with bots, so some floor prep is needed to avoid these minor issues. However, I have tested some that did a better job of going over these obstacles than the 105, but again it’s an placed as an entry point. Battery life is strong, providing about 100 minutes of cleaning per charge, which comfortably cleans a 1,200 sq ft floor level (it doesn’t go up or down stairs). It automatically returns to the charging dock when needed and is pretty quiet, so it won’t disturb you TV watching or a zoom call. The mopping feature, while nice to have, is fairly basic. It essentially drags a damp microfiber cloth over your floors. This works fine for daily dust but isn’t meant for tougher or dried-on stains. It’s akin to a quick Swiffer wipe, sufficient for everyday light maintenance but not a substitute for a traditional mop. That said, the end effect is much better than just a vacuum, and you can feel it when you walk on the floors, which are no longer slippery once the 105 has done a run. On the subject, one advantage of the mopping function is that it smartly avoids rugs and carpets to prevent soaking them. However, the robot sometimes treats rugs like barriers, refusing to cross them to reach other hard floor areas, which can limit cleaning coverage depending on your layout. You’ll want to factor this in, depending on your layout. Mapping and App features - I was impressed by the LiDAR mapping and navigation, especially for a budget model. It quickly mapped out the room with an impressive degree of accuracy, and cleaned in an organized fashion. You can set virtual no-go zones, label rooms, or target specific areas for cleaning, through the app, as well as the cleaning mode (vac, mop or combo, suction level, etc.) which worked well. The app is pretty comprehensive (offering scheduling, room-specific cleaning, smart voice integration) it's sometimes clunky, slow to respond, but these issues aren’t unusual with bot cleaners. Voice control integration with Alexa and Google Assistant is convenient, particularly when multitasking, but I find just scheduling cleanings are generally easier. Auto Empty Dock - It doesn’t come with one, and that’s really inconvenient because it means you have to remember to empty the bin after each use. Frankly, I believe that all these bots should come with these auto empty docks as standard, as the onboard dust bins are invariably only good for one pass before they need to be empty. However, there is an optional auto-empty dock that adds significant convenience by automatically emptying the robot's dustbin into a larger bag, reducing how often manual bin emptying is needed. However, the base 105 doesn’t come with this auto empty dock, and opting for the model that does will cost more. That said it’s well worth considering, but you’ll want to weigh the options of competing bots that include this, if your on a budget. Specs Overview: Battery Life: ~100 minutes per charge Navigation - Accurate LiDAR mapping and organized cleaning Dustbin Capacity: Integrated dustbin and water tank combo Mopping Function: Basic microfiber cloth drag (very basic, as compared to rotating disks/bristles) Compatibility: Alexa, Google Assistant App Features: Virtual boundaries, targeted cleaning, room-specific settings, etc. through the apps. Pros: Reliable vacuuming performance on hard floors Effective LiDAR navigation and mapping Mopping while basic, does a better job than just vacuuming on hardwood. Good battery life Useful virtual no-go zones and targeted room cleaning Cons: Basic mopping capability, but not suited for tough messes or stains Occasional app glitches and slow connectivity (somewhat par for the course) Imperfect edge cleaning, especially around baseboards (again largely par for the course) Limited performance on thick rugs or carpets (par for the course) No auto-empty dock included which detracting from the convenience of an auto cleaning bot. Final Thought - Overall, the Roomba 105 Combo is a reliable and effective option for daily cleaning tasks, particularly if you mostly have hard floors. It delivers strong vacuuming performance, good navigation, and thoughtful convenience features. While the app could use improvements and mopping is quite basic, these trade-offs are acceptable given the price, and the mopping, despite being basic, does make a difference. As a whole, the 105 t makes daily floor maintenance significantly easier, although you'll occasionally still need manual intervention for thorough cleaning, getting it out of trouble, dealing with tougher messes, and routinely emptying it after cleaning. If the last issue vexes you, as it should, you should consider a model with an auto emptying docking station.

This is our first experience with a Roomba and there are lots of great points that I like about it. It does have four different cleaning stages: edge sweeping brush, surface bristle brush, mop pad and great suction. You can have it moping or moping and sweeping through the use of the App. You can also schedule cleanings through the app. I'm not a big fan of apps, so I'm often happy to just push the power button and let it do its thing.

In our house, we really don't have much floor space since our home has three floors. I went through the process to MAP the house and was pleased at how it was able to steer around most objects. It can also detect the stairs and therefore it won't fall down.

Our house has 3 'puppies' each with four paws. Along with that, they have multiple beds that are frequently moved (by the grandkids) to different spots between the kitchen and living room. One of our 'pups' is also often playing speed bump (lies in one spot and will not move no matter what) in various locations. The Roomba does have some difficulty figuring out what to do in these events.

The Roomba does seem to be able to pick up most of the dirt from the 12 paws of 3 dogs and the multiple people that roam through our home. I like that it's bag less, however, the dust bin does fill up quickly. It has a 'dirt detection' sensor, however, in our house; it has no difficulty to find the dirt. There is enough room in it for one cleaning before it needs to be emptied. We have a central vac and our 'pups' are often frightened by the noise, so I like that the Roomba is very quiet as it goes about its work.

Over all, I'm impressed with this technology and glad that I have it.

This is my first robot vacuum and I must say I am quite impressed with the technology that goes into the bot. Watching it navigate the space and create its own cleaning pattern to cover the entire area is really impressive. We have three dogs in the house so this is probably a more demanding space for the vacuum but it does manage a decent job at picking up the bulk of the hair. Also since it is automated, I can easily run it every day or two so that it has less to pick up when it runs.

My first impressions where mostly good but had some issues setting things up in the app. The instructions are clear and lead you to download the app after unboxing the bot and the base. The app requires an account as expected, once complete I was able to easily pair and name my vacuum, so far so good. I then followed the instructions to map the area, it did go around to rooms to map everything but once it was done I was no super impressed with how the rooms looked on the app. I feel like it didn't really match my house layout and split the rooms up poorly. I figured maybe I could remap it to improve it so I let it do it again, it ran through the house but did not create a new map. I then figured I would split and merge the rooms to get it closer to my actual layout but no matter what I tired I got an error message and would not let me. I ended up deleting the map, rebooting the robot, and remapping the room. This time I also moved some of the furniture out of the way so that it would get a clear view of the walls. This second map is much better, I can actually look at it and know which part of the home it is referring to. I was also able to split and merge the rooms up to be as accurate as possible (no errors this time), and was able to rename the rooms. Other small issues I have noticed is sometimes it will report as vacuuming while on the base, could be confusing if running it while away from the home.

The robot itself though is very cool, I am shocked at how quiet it is considering it is a vacuum, its obviously not silent but really not very loud and not an unpleasant noise. The self guidance, object avoidance, and stair avoidance seems excellent to me, as mentioned in the intro, watching it do its thing is super impressive. It's low profile also helps it get under some furniture which is great. The dust bin is not very large and fills up quick with dog hair in our house but it can still do the whole floor well before dumping out the content.

The mop part, not sure how much I will use it to be honest. I was hoping I could just leave water in it as well as the mopping pad and I could let it clean the whole upstairs (floors and carpets) and it would mop the floors. In theory this is possible but I found that it really struggles on the carpet with the mop attachment, it can't even return home as it needs to back up to the base but with the mop pad it is unable to do so on my carpet. I could move the base off the carpet and onto the floor but I have no real good spot for it on the floor. However I can pick it up, put it in the kitchen and have it mop then when done I physically put it back on the base. It is not as automated but I already need to add the mop pad and fill up some water so its simply an extra step.

Overall I am very happy with this robot vacuum, it is in a tough environment with three dogs but manages to keep the floors cleaner and with little intervention from me. The app glitches are unfortunate but I do hope this can be fixed in the future through some updates. I personally like playing around with this stuff but I think if my parents had the same experience they may not have kept it.

This Robot mop and Vacuum cleaner is very detailed and it does its job quite quickly but thoroughly.

It is easy to set up and to register on the app. The robot vacuum cleaner performs a nice and accurate map of the floor area that it can access and it separates the rooms for future reference. The room separation is also great to have the vacuum or mop cleaner target those areas if there is a mess or if they are high traffic zones. You can set up scheduled cleaning times which is great for a weekly or even daily cleaning routine.

I did really like that the robot can sense stairs or ledges, so that it will not take a tumble down a flight of stairs. This is fantastic as it eliminates the need to get zone blocking stripes or the like. The robot will also detect surface changes so that it will not mop a rug or carpet in error. There is a way to add no go areas or no mop areas in the app to add another layer of protection to areas just incase.

The vacuuming and moping cycle is very detailed and this unit was still able to pick up quite a bit of lint and crumbs as well as dirt from the floors, even after I vacuumed and mopped the evening before.

The docking station is just for charging, so you will need to manually empty the lint and dirty water from the unit after each use. The brush and filters are easy to remove and to clean for a fresh and good working mop and vacuum.

I am absolutely in love with this Roomba! This is the second Roomba I’ve had and it is more powerful than the 6 series. Love, the fact that is super easy to empty the dirt and has a little built-in brush. You can use to clean the filter every time you empty it. Does a great job, cleaning my rugs and mopping the floors.

My floors love it. They say “Finally someone washed off the dirt!

I didn’t get the self emptying unit. Just the clean floors were enough of a reward.

When I did need service those I contacted were very nice and patient. When my Roomba couldn’t form maps with individual areas no matter what we tried, they ordered a replacement Roomba.

Ironically, it never was the machine at fault. It was the app that lets you create the areas. Before the new Roomba arrived iRobot informed me of a major update on the app. I installed it and everything now worked as it should! (The replacement unit arrived a few days later which I sent back unopened — no longer needed.)

Hopefully the app will continue to work on further updates to make it even more intuitive to use.

And I love telling Alexa to tell Roomba to vacuum or wash the kitchen area and Roomba goes and does it !

Idk if mine was defective, but:
+App crashed and got out of sync with the robot many times.
+The mapping function with lidar worked, but the customization tools just kept throwing errors.
+Then the actual cleaning logic was awful. It is an apartment with some stuff granted, but it kept getting stuck in chairs for no apparent reason. It could take up to 10 minutes to go around chair and table legs.
+Cannot return to base if the base is in the carpet?
+At some point could not locate the base, which I can accept sometimes, but go 15 mins in the same place and twice banging a wall for no apparent reason.

So, returning. Maybe in a large room with not obstacle it could be useful, it could work but app and logic seem like from 10 years ago. I would go with the competition , there is a reason why roomba is losing market share.
Also in reviews it is always last on everything, vacuum power, capacity etc.
    Pretty disappointed.
