Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves is an epic movie for 1991. Kevin Costner, Morgan Freeman, and Christian Slater lead a great cast to provide the audience an amazing story of Robin Hood. This was the first Robin Hood movie that was not a cartoon or Disney. This movie made me a fan of this iconic character. The studio and Kevin Costner definitely did right by this character. Love the theme of Nobility not being a birth right, but defined by one’s actions. The storyline is amazing, blu-ray has lots of interesting special features, and the clarity of the picture is wonderful. After 31 years, this movie is still amazing and I am still a fan.

    Le Blu-ray est arrivé en parfait état et autant le boîtier que le disque ne comportait aucun défaut. C'est réellement la version longue du film et il est réellement complétement en français. La qualité d'image est magnifique, c'est mille fois mieux que l'édition en DVD ! Le doublage français n'est pas aussi bon que l'original, mais est tout de même raisonnable. Le film est aussi bon en version longue qu'en version originale. Un seul petit détail qui m'a déplu, c'est que le colis a été livré sans numéro de suivi et j'ignorais donc quand j'allais le recevoir.

    Kevin Costner and Christian Slater better in more contemporary films. Costner plays Robin Hood, returning from the Crusades with Morgan Freeman who owes Costner his life after escaping from prison in the Crusades. Costner and Freeman return and find out that Costner's father has been killed and his retainer blinded by Sheriff's men. His home has been destroyed. He saves a young boy who has poached a deer, killing Sheriff's men. Alan Rickman portrays the Sheriff of Nottingham and steals the show with his sly dark humor. Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio also does an excellent job portraying Mariam. Costner bests John Little and becomes the leader of a band of peasants escaping from the Sheriff. Taron Egerton also does an excellent job as Robin Hood in another film and there is an older film with Sean Connery playing Robin and Audrey Hepburn as Marian who has joined the cloister. Excellent sequence with Costner and Rickman fighting it out. No real extras.
