DIY wired installation
Step 1: Disconnect
Turn off power at the breaker and use the provided jumper cable to connect both terminals in your existing doorbell’s chime. Note: the doorbell will not sound your existing chime.
Step 2: Connect
Outside, disconnect your existing doorbell button. Connect doorbell wiring to the back of Video Doorbell Wired.
Step 3: Set Up
Secure your doorbell to your home, attach your faceplate and turn power on at the breaker. Use the Ring App to continue set up.

Vehicle non-detectable
I originally gave this product a two star review for the reason stated below. I was a huge fan of the Ring doorbell camera when I bought my first unit several years ago as it could detect vehicles coming up my driveway as well as traffic on the street, if I chose to increase my zone footprint. It died before Christmas, so I purchased the newer unit as a replacement. It could not detect vehicles coming up my driveway, so I returned it ( at the RING representative’s suggestion after she was unable to get the unit to perform any better after a hard reset) and ordered another one, which I installed January 25th. It also could not detect vehicles coming up my laneway. This is with the sensitivity set to the maximum level. Although it has some nice AI visual enhancements for describing characteristics of people or packages at the front door, I was VERY disappointed in the range performance for vehicle detection. A ring representative has since contacted me and was very helpful in finding a solution to my vehicle detection issue. It turns out that I needed to upgrade to a newer device with better detection capabilities ( note: Ring has several models available, so it is important to review each of their performance features before buying the right unit for you). A bonus in installing the new kit, is that it came with an electronic chime, so now I can hear the doorbell again in the hallway when someone rings it. The previous unit had a shunt for the mechanical doorbell, thereby making it inoperable.
