Product description
For thousands of years humans looked up and wondered, but it wasn't until 1969 when the Saturn V that humans finally discovered what was on the moon. The Saturn V itself was a massive rocket over three-hundred feet tall. It was designed by the same minds that had developed the V-2 to rain death on London, now bent to peaceful purposes. No space vehicle before or since has been capable of transporting humans beyond low Earth orbit. Kit features a model Saturn V with launch pad, structured surface, detailed Lunar module, three figures and full decals.

- Reviewed in Canada on May 29, 2019Verified PurchaseI was happy to get this model at a good price. While it may not be "the" most accurate replica of a Saturn V, it is serviceable for most display uses, and in 1/144th it is still a nice size without being excessively large. Interestingly enough it was originally released in 1968, so while it has been marketed in more recent years as the Apollo 11 moon rocket, in all truth, it preceded that mission by about a year, given that it was Apollo 8 which orbited the moon for the first time in December 1968! Regardless of that, this is a nice model to have in one's collection if one is interested in the moon race and would like to build and own a replica of this iconic launch vehicle.

- Reviewed in Canada on February 28, 2021Verified PurchaseNice detail but lots of flashing that needs to be cut away. Did I mention the copious amounts of flashing? The main body fits but takes work to keep it together and to line up. But, the price was good. I have always wanted one of these model kits. Had to wait 45 years to get it.

- Reviewed in Canada on April 23, 2025Verified PurchaseOur special needs son was not able to assemble and we were not allowed to return this items - it didn't come with any glue either so the parts are not just lying around - it has been a disappointment and we hope to get a solution/response soon.
- Reviewed in Canada on November 14, 2020Verified PurchaseI thought the rocket by itself didn't pack much punch but using downloaded files and my 3D printer it now is a good display piece. The Saturn V on the launch pad beside the massive tower complete with flashing beacon and spotlights makes for a satisfying project.

- Reviewed in Canada on July 7, 2021Verified PurchaseArrived on time in great condition. My father made one of these years ago. He recently passed away and I'm going to make this in honor of him. It will be bittersweet for sure. But it will look great when finished.

5.0 out of 5 stars A few minor fit issues, but an impressive finished model
Verified PurchaseIt is true what a few people have mentioned about a few fit issues, but none of them were of any significant problem. If you are after an absolutely perfect recreation you may require a little filler, but I managed perfectly well without any. The small lunar lander that sits in the payload fairing (but is removable) is a little delicate.
It is interesting to see from the markings from the mounds that much of this kit was cast in 1968, meaning it was actually designed before mankind had set foot on the moon, and most of it remains unchanged! A few parts have clearly been retooled, and there were no fit issues on these.
The paint scheme is interesting, although not the one used on the Saturn V rockets that flew manned missions to the moon. The design featured in this kit was changed for the manned missions to reduce the amount of surface area painted black, as it was discovered that the black paint was overheating the fuel tanks whilst the rocket waited in the sun. If you want to recreate an manned Saturn V, you can find photographs online.
I got this kit on a marketplace deal for less that £15 as it didn't have a box, which was a steal. The kit itself was absolutely fine. Highly recommended

1.0 out of 5 stars Very weak plastic quality and not at all value for money.
Verified PurchaseThe plastic quality of the parts is horrible. It’s breaking at every single point.
Way too expensive. I would really wish to get my money back as I repent for the money I spent on this useless toy..
We had lot more expectations from revell but I will never but revell brand in my life.😔
