I despise the 3-button controller because it has little to offer, you can¡¯t pull off certain moves in Street Fighter II. What were you thinking Sega of America?!? (I have a Japanese Mega Drive Mini because of it) But Retro-bit comes to save the day. Based off the ¡°This-is-cool¡± controller, it is cool indeed. I love transparent shells. It works great on Switch! I even get to play as Heart Aino in BBTAG using this controller! But I dislike the button placements at default when using on PS3. But that¡¯s really easy to fix. (Just hold down d-pad in a certain direction and the start button for 5 seconds. L2/ZL and R2/ZR for C and Z, don¡¯t really like those placements) It¡¯s also fun to use on PS3 as well with all those fighters that the PS3 has to offer. There are a lot of fighting games on the PS3 and counting (extending into PS4 then 5). It even works on my PS2 Super Converter from Brook, making it a great replacement for that pricey Saturn PS2 controller. It¡¯s perfect for Arcana Heart because it suits it extremely well playing that game with a Sega Saturn controller and it even feels like a Saturn game too,I freakin¡¯ love it!!! As for PS4, doesn¡¯t work out of the box, but there¡¯s a way to get around that and it is using a Brook converter or CronusMAX which I do plan to get. The build quality is great but the d-pad can be pushed down in the center slightly but you won¡¯t seem to notice it during play. Definitely recommend it if you are a retro gamer or a fan of Sega or just a fighting gamer like me in general.

    All my 8bitDo controllers have autofire.
    Even cheap Switch controllers have autofire.

    This controller is made and designed for old games.
    50% of shumps are unplayable without autofire, at least this late in my life.

    I love this controller, it is well made and works perfectly on my Switch and Linux PC.
    This is well made, looks amazing, the feel is great and the directional pad is great.

    If they ever make another one with autofire, I will buy it again.

    It doesn't allow you to press Start + A at the same time, because this is a special button combo. This means I can't do the Level Select code in Sonic The Hedgehog, and it messes up lots of other games where you need this button combo too. I could not find a way to disable this special button combo, and customer service never got back to me.

    Just buy an Xbox One controller.

    Got a ¡°Revision 2¡± model of this and I love it. My only issue is that the base controls make it so it the shoulders are R1 and L1, which makes the Z button L2, which is alright for the switch and such i suppose, but I think it should¡¯ve been swapped with the R1.
    If you plan on using this for emulation on PC, it¡¯ll do the job. If you use this for fighting games like I do, keep in mind the d-pad emulates the L-Stick and you will have to map the dpad to the L-Stick, and swap the R1 and L2 buttons.

    Pros - Cheaper than something like the Hori Commander Pro, and the different sized buttons feel really good for fighting games as well. I got a Rev 2 so it works with the switch and it¡¯s very nice to use on the console, even works for Smash if you¡¯re crazy like me.

    Cons - The default controls weird me out a bit, and since it doesn¡¯t use the 6 button layout that¡¯s actually used for newer fighting games, and can¡¯t be remapped properly on the Switch. Since it¡¯s a Rev 2, it doesn¡¯t work with the Brook PS3toPS4 adapter properly. If you want to make it work properly with the Brook adapter, I recommend looking on other sites for Rev 1¡¯s.

    Always wanted a USB version of the Saturn controller. Works great, d-pad feels great. I think my only issue is that it's a bit hard to map this with something like in RetroPie that requires the Select button. It's not a detractor at all for the controller itself as it's just like the original.

    It's a good reproduction of the JPN Saturn pad that you can use on PC. A blessing having such things available in 2019 for 2D gaming.

    NOTE: if you have any issues with directions or buttons becoming less responsive or erratic, I found a simple fix. Open the pad (very easy to do) and check the contact pads for those controls. In my case, my left direction on the dpad was becoming weird, and when I checked there was a small piece of white material lodged under the contact pad! Removed it, cleaned out any dust, and now it's working great again.

    I loved the idea of this retro controller and it was fun to have, but sadly I returned mine. Overall the controller just felt loose. The directional pad felt wobbly and sometimes the button presses would not register when trying to move quickly. If you wanted to do a quick "left, right, left" often the controller would miss one of the inputs. The shoulder and face buttons also had a fair amount of wobble on my controller pad too and would rattle when I moved the controller. Because of these reasons and other user reviews I ended up returning my controller pad.

    However, the idea of this controller pad is awesome. The translucent plastic just brings me back to the days of the Saturn. This controller feels great to hold in your hands and use and feels just like the original, albeit a tad lighter. Also as an added plus this controller works with the new Sega Genesis Mini and gives you some extra inputs. Pressing the shoulder buttons will bring up the main menu without having to press the reset button on the main unit which was an added bonus.

    Overall this controller could be perfect with a little more attention to quality on the buttons.
