I'm grateful to the supply chain that this carafe is so easy to replace, even though it is somewhat overpriced. What I don't like is the engineering of the spout. One of the few things the carafe needs to do is pour without spilling and splashing. There is a trick to levelling and orienting this vessel just so to avoid a scalding, sloppy mess but this works within ridiculously tight and unforgiving tolerances unless you can muster zen-like consistency and presence of mind every time you pour a cup for self and other. Why, why, why can't the coffeemaker industry's designers and engineers get this fixed after decades of this minor but pervasive nuisance? Electric pour-over coffeemakers still remain wondrous invention but please could we remedy to fix this same old same old shortcoming?

This was the 3rd time that I have had to replace the carafe for my Cuisinart model DCC-3200 coffee maker. This particular carafe is very good quality and from what I recall about the original, this one is just like it. After breaking the original carafe, I replaced it with a generic universal carafe from my local discount retailer, but that model was cheap, very thin glass and after just a few months of use, I broke that one too. This model sold by �鶹�� is clearly superior—the glass is thicker, the carafe feels solid in my hand, and when I pour the coffee it does not drip/spill annoyingly like that *other* generic replacement carafe did. I am very happy with this carafe.

My only complaint is that when I wash it in the dishwasher (and I have to turn it upside down to do that), the plastic handle is hollow and open at the bottom so it fills up with water in the dishwasher just like a cup—and when I remove it from the dishwasher, the water accumulated in the handle spills everywhere. I have to remember to remove it carefully from the dishwasher and turn it right-side-up *over the sink* to empty that water out of the handle. It seems like a simple modification to add a “cap” on the bottom of the hollow handle to keep it from filling with water would be a nice improvement. Overall, that is a small complaint in relation to the otherwise great product that this is. I’m happy to have this replacement carafe and do recommend it.
