Ok, so these are a decent option for a black oxide screw. The problem lies with the company Reliable Hardware. I have been purchasing these over the last year as I build guitar cabinets, so I've bought their handles cab corners and a few other components for guitar cabinets. First off, there is only 35 screws in these bags of 50. The count has been off every single time, I had figured a few fell behind my tool bench, nope these next two bags only had 35 as well... Thought I was losing my mind when I didn't have enough. Now move to the strap handles and cab corners, they're about half the quality they should be, the metal is only half as thick as you'd find on a budget amplifier and you can literally bend them with your finger and thumb, the little metal strip in the handle is so thin and sharp it will cut right through the rubber covering, then your hand. I have found a company out of Calgary called TCH hardware and another in Ontario called NextGen guitars. This is where my money will be spent on cabinet/guitar parts from now on, and it will go back into the Canadian economy. Also, these screws are only 11 cents a piece at my local bolt supply, dang, I've been ripped off. Never again. I'm not sure what's up with the American companies, but it's quality and control is becoming quite trash! Just pick up a new Gibson guitar @ over 2 grand and you'll see what I mean, they are selling junk behind a brand... If you want these screws or any kind of road case/cabinet hardware, go to your local store, or one of the 2 companies I mentioned above, trusts, you'll be glad you did. Happy building!

    I make squirrel/bird/bat habitats. I screw a lot and have used pretty much every type of screw made. I know a good screw when I have it. These are good screws that didnt strip once. Avoid strippers if you screw a lot.
