These can be also used to clean glass, ovens and refinishing wood furniture. The 16pak cost me less than most smaller paks. So I recommend this 0000 fine steel wool.

The 0000 worked well to prep wood for clear coating it. A pleasure work with as well. I also used it to plug a few tiny gaps to keep the mice out (although coarser steel wool is best for that).

As a bonus, this fine steel wool works great as a firestarter when it joins forces with a 9 volt battery (Google it if you're not sure what I'm on about)

It doesn't scratch from my experience. We used it specifically on the chrome on our antique car bumpers and trim. We had hoped to bring back a shine, but it will take more than just steel wool. It does however nicely remove surface rust and oxidation, so it's good at cleaning. I suggest using a spray cleaner on the metal first however to remove oils and such, then it's a much better result using the steel wool.
