This book aims to shed light on complexities of rectal prolapse, providing readers with a comprehensive understanding of its causes, symptoms and treatment options. The contents of book are in a very simple format to make it friendly for patients and other health care professionals.
Rectal prolapse occurs when rectum slips down inside your anus. This is caused by weakness of muscles which holds rectum in place. Patients may have wrong perception of it being as haemorrhoids , but unlike haemorrhoids ,it does not disappear by itself . Patients eventually need surgery to fix the problem .
The book is formatted to explore the anatomy of rectum , pelvis and pelvic floor weakness and its reasons . Various types of pelvic floor and its impact on daily lives is discussed in depth along with investigations and treatment options including non operative approach as well as various surgical options are discussed in depth.
