This LED light is a fun decorative toy.
There were no instructions that came in the box, but it is intuitive. It comes with the Light, a charging cable, and a mounting sticker. The item should be fully charged first before use. Plugging in the charging cable a red light next to it will turn on. It would turn blue when fully charged. Also on the side is a square push button that turns the light on and off. No screws are needed for mounting as the mounting sticker can stick to the wall and the light can easily be put on or taken off.
The plastic on the item feels thin. So ensure that a child does not use it like a lightsaber. Banging it against other items or dropping it may crack or chip the plastic. So it is more ment for decoration being mounted up, or you can use it like a torch for fun if handled carefully.
Kids can have a great time and spend over an hour in the basement pretending to be exploring a dark cave. This also reminds kids of a popular video game.
When fully charged, the brightness of the LED light is less than a 60W bulb, perhaps more equivalent to a 40W bulb. This is great for explorations in the dark basement.
How long does the light last? After fully charged, here are the results:
0 hr - bright, about equivalent to a 40 W bulb. Good for lighting up several feet.
4 hr - the light has gone dimmer by now. It is close to being dimmer than a candle light (I lit a flame to compare brightness).
7 hr - the light is even more dim, maybe half the brightness of a candle. If you bring it low about 1 foot from the floor, you can still see a few feet ahead.
If this was mounted next to the washroom, although it does not light up the hallway, in the dark and when you wake up, you can still see the light and it can guide you to the direction of the washroom.
20 hrs - the brightness is still about the same as the 7he mark with no change.
I stopped the experiment here. Realistically, for fun, the light can last about 3-4 hours of continuous use. If you were to mount it and turn it on each night, yes, it can last through the night, with the first 3-4 hours being brighter and lighting up the hallway, and the remaining time until dawn is just a gentle glow. It would mean you would need to charge it up each day if you intend to use it like a night light. It takes about 2 hours to fully charge. Alternatively, it does appear that if you get a really long USB C cord, you can also continuously plug it in and keep it on and it works.
