While rats have the unique ability to restart their hearts, the shock lasts over 2 minutes to ensure higher kill rates.
Mess-Free Cleanup
Cleanup is a breeze with the Rat Zapper Classic Rat Trap. Unlike standard traps, you don’t have to touch dead rodents. The rat is contained within the kill chamber, which mostly hides it from view. To let you know when the trap needs to be emptied, an indicator light alerts you of a catch! After a kill, simply dispose of the dead rodent in a trashcan without having to touch it.
Designed for Indoor Use
Designed for indoor use to keep it from being damaged by outdoor elements, the Rat Zapper is a handy tool for eliminating rats in attics, garages, basements, and sheds. The trap is both poison-free and non-toxic, but as with any electronic device, use it with caution around children and pets.

How the Rat Zapper Works
The Rat Zapper Classic is equipped with smart circuit technology that senses when a rodent enters the trap. Once the rodent is inside, the rat steps on the metal plates, completing the circuit and the trap delivers a continuous shock for 2 minutes. Each time the trap catches a rat, the light on top of the trap flashes red every 7 seconds to indicate a kill. For easy, hygienic, no-touch, no-see disposal, simply tip the trap to deposit the dead rodent directly into the trash.
Easy, 4-Step Setup
Insert Batteries
Remove the battery cover and insert 4 “AA” batteries into the battery compartment. Then, replace the cover.
Bait the Trap
Apply a high-protein bait, such as peanut butter, to the back wall of the trap using a Q-tip or other tool to avoid leaving your scent.
Place the Trap
Locate an area with signs of high rodent activity or place lengthwise along the wall where rodents prefer to travel.
Turn the Trap On
Activate by flipping the switch to the “ON” position. A red light will blink once to indicate the trap is functioning properly.
