5.0 out of 5 stars Very useful
Verified PurchaseWe bought a new house and the backyard sprinkler system was broken beyond repair. Even with professional help, I was unable to locate the sprinkler valves for the back yard. So instead I set out to research and install my own drip irrigation to automate the watering process, mostly because I am way too lazy to water my backyard every other day. I chose the rainbird family of products because of the positive reviews and the plethora of options.
I chose drip emitters for the trees and shrubs in my yard. I chose 1/2 in tubing for the systems backbone. Then 1/4 in tubing to run out to the individual plants, flowers, trees, shrubs... There are two ways you can install them. You can install them straight into the 1/2 in tubing, like I did. The other way is to install a 1/4 in coupler into the 1/2 in tubing, then run a 1/4 tube to the plant. Then connect the drip emitter at that end. I chose this configuration because some people complain about the water pressure pushing the emitter off the end of the tubing. I bought this took in order to connect the 1/2 in tubing with the Tee and elbow fittings.
These plugs have two uses. If you make a mistake and punch a hole in the 1/2 in tubing that you don't want (goof) then you can use these plugs to close that hole. You can also use them to plug the end of the 1/4 in tubing. I did that for the tubing that I ran for future expansion, but I am not using yet.
+ Good price.
+ Very easy to use. I do recommend using the emitter insertion special tool to insert these goof plugs. I personally dislike special tools, but they are only a couple bucks each. I saved a ton of money by doing this project myself ($250 total cost), so to me it was worth it to get this specialized tool.
+ Very happy with the performance so far.
- Nothing thus far.
I am very happy with the performance of these plugs Ill update this review as necessary.

5.0 out of 5 stars Goof Plugs, THAT DISCRIPTION FITS
Verified PurchaseThese little things help to make you feel better about yourself. Have you have ever tried to install a watering system for your flower bed or your vegetable garden? If so, then you know that the 1/2" Poly Tubing is not user friendly. You will put the hole in the wrong place some time. If you run the 1/4" tubing from that hole, the job is just not going to look good. That will make you feel bad about yourself. VOILA, this little thing will make your job look a lot better. If you will get them from AMAZON.COM you will get more of them for your money. Get "Rain Bird TP25-30PK 1/4-Inch Closure Goof Plugs, 30-Pack." Just plug that hole and put another one where you should have the first time.
Your job will look better and you may even get a smile from your wife, that will cause you to feel better about yourself.

5.0 out of 5 stars These are the best goof plugs ever in the history of this or any other universe, known or unknown, throughout time and space
Verified PurchaseI've tried various kinds of goof plugs - 1/4", 3/8" and yes, even 1/2" - but these ones are far and away the best ones I've ever had the pleasure to work with. They do exactly as advertised - they plug up holes. But these are so versatile, the hole does not necessarily have to be the result of a "goof" - any 1/4" in plastic tube will do. For all I know, these could probably be used to plug up any 1/4" hole in just about anything - yes, these goof plugs are that good. In short, the Rain Bird TP25-30PK changed my life. It's hard to believe I've lived so long without them. There's 30 in a pack, and I've only used one so far - so Nirvana 29 more times, here I come! Highly recommended.
