    setup is a breeze, adding new receivers are easier then blinking your eyes, even adding fpv camera was easy to do .

    Range I have issues with the included dual antenna receiver cutting out but the single antenna receivers I’m yet to go out of range, just out of sight lol hense camera..
    seems to be very durable, I took a nasty flip and hit so hard it turned off, thought it was toast, pressed power, turned on kept trucking like a basher should..

    Update:
    Controller is functioning properly now. Posted online my issue and someone reached out and suggest I look in the "Mixing setting" under Brake mixing. Factory was set to ZERO brake for CH2, I had to set it to 100%. I would never had thought to look here, I've never had to use more then 1 brake channel before, something I would expect used for tanks though. There are 3 channel settings on this controller. No longer disappointed with the controller, time to retire a few RC4GS controllers and move all the car to this one. Then maybe look into a second RC8X to replace the RC6GS controllers.

    I have several RC4GS & RC6GS so was excited to see the RC8X when it was announced. Finally decided to pull the trigger and buy one during amazon prime deals sale. When it arrived, I put it on the shelf to be used with the rere Javelin I was going to build. Day came to hook up all the electronics and throttle doesn't respond properly, I only get forwad, no brake or reverse. Thought it was the ESC (nope), went through all the setting on the controller, nothing. Decided to try a RC4GS and car works perfectly. Went online, checked for latest firmware, upgraded and still doesn't work, I am so disappointed. Waited a long time to buy one just to receive a DOA. Never had any issue with any other RadioLink transmitters/ receivers (I have a lot!) I go online searching to find others have issues but not the one I'm having. I have to return this one now, but do I take a chance on another?

    I bought this as Christmas present when it was on sale back in November. Perry good deal.
    Been around rc equipment for 35 years.
    Read over the instruction manual. Charged up the lipo, put it in and press power and... nothing. Won't power on. Checked polarity of battery connection, it's correct, disconnect battery, reconnect and...... nothing. Pulled the lipo and put in the battery tray, put in batteries and..... nothing. Put lipo back in.
    Ok. So I hook it up to computer via USB cable. Successes, it turns on. Downloaded latest firmware, followed instructions, firmware update successful. Shut off the transmitter, pull USB cable, push power and... yup, you guessed it, nothing once again.
    Hooked it back up to the computer with USB cable and it turned on... pulled the USB cable while it was on with lipo still plugged in and....... shuts off, no power. NOT HAPPY. Tried the same thing with the battery tray, same result. Dead unit.
    So I'm left with a dead unit, which I obviously have to return. Was just going to get another, but sale is over. So, that's that.
    Not very happy with the product. Could have just been the unit I had, not going to pay full price for a new one due to no fault of my own.

    Swifty from ATA Hobby reached out to me not long after I put up my review. He went above and beyond to make things right. After a bit of back and forth, he offered me a new unit at a fantastic price and at NO time did he suggest he would do this only if I changed the review and to me, that is great customer service. Given this, I would definitely buy from ATA Hobby again. Yes, the original transmitter was defective, but offer Swity made, made things more than right.

    The RC8x has everything you want and more than you need in a high end radio. Extremely easy to use, and upgrade the software with the included usb-c cable. The newest firmware v1.3 packs so many amazing features. I can’t list them all. ABS, traction control, drag racing throttle, set up up to three stages, and a trans brake. Gyro stability control, custom adjustable switches, and buttons. And the best part is the manufacturer is extremely pleasant to work with and are committed to making the product better, which is evident by their consistent updates to the firmware improvements to the product and functionality.
    I am totally sold on this radio, and we will be using it exclusively moving forward.

    If you’re on the fence about getting this radio don’t be I am very impressed so impressed that I have actually bought one for every family member. At this price it is everything and more that others at 1/2 the price.
