My primary reason for wanting a Dash Cam was to use it in rental cars when I am travelling and this one perfectly fits the requirements.

The packaging is really good and contains everything except for a SD (Memory) card that is required to use this device. Unlike others I like the fact that they dont provide a SD card and charge more and instead give the freedom to us to choose the brand and size as per our needs. All you have to ensure is stick to the Read/Write speeds which they recommend and you are good. I went ahead with a SanDisk extreme 128GB and it works as expected.

Coming to the setup, I had issues setting the device with an Android 14. The WiFi kept disconnecting no matter what I did and could never proceed. When I tried with iOS 17, it worked as expected. There was a firmware upgrade post which I could connect to my Android as well.

I havent gotten the chance to record on road yet but from testing at home it seems to pretty good. Will soon update once I get a chance to test it on a drive.

This is not a big deal but just a suggestion to Rove, it would be really great if you could provide a screen protector as this device is used by a lot of people in Rental cars and it would avoid a lot of scratches while packing if there’s a screen guard. Thank you :)

Works great with a couple of minor issues. I use a cigarette lighter for power. Unfortunately, that is always hot so I have to unplug the unit so as not to wear the vehicle battery down. They sell a wiring harness to get around this issue but I’m not comfortable installing that myself so haven’t done that. The other minor quibble is on a rough road with washboard or potholes, the unit thinks there has been an incident and stores that section of the card. Not sure there is a way around that as the unit is designed to secure incident footage, no doubt based on a certain level of impact or vibration.

The manufacturer also sells a lens that reduces glare. I haven’t reviewed any recorded imagery but I would prefer a manufacturer sell everything needs to allow the camera to work as it should rather than add on pieces.

The video quality on the camera screen appears to be very good. On the whole, pretty happy with the unit.

So I just purchased this after two failed replacement purchases of the the model below this one had several dead pixels and just wanted to see what the difference was ( the one I was replacing I bought back in 2022 and the clip in part on the dashcam broke so I can’t use it with the suction cup anymore ). That model just below this one was great but the upgraded version with the newest USB ports was disappointing so I decided to try the PRO version. I don’t think this one has any dead pixels as of yet *knock on wood* but I’m so far liking this model. The picture is better than the previous model but it doesn’t record as wide as the old model that I bought in 2022 which is disappointing cuz I don’t like having to move my camera if I don’t need to. Will update if there’s any changes.

You can connect to it all from your phone and manage all the videos and settings and everything. The whole thing is really slick and well thought out. Not like a lot of the garbage these days where you get a half decent product and then some terrible interface to manage it and some crusty old app that doesn’t work.

And the video. Oh boy. I just took it out for a spin at nighttime and it is crystal clear. I mean REALLY good. And, I’ve only got it set to 2k rather than 4K. At this point I don’t see why I need 4K (haha).

I decided to fork out and pay for the Rove brand memory card too. I’ve never (ever) bought a premium card for any device before but the manufacturer really seemed adamant that it’s worth the extra few bucks.

I’m really happy. This is a great product and really well made. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a dashcam.

After my July 24, 2024 editing when I changed from 5 star to 2 star because of my not-so-pleasant experience with the customer service, ROVE once again reached out to me on July 25 apologizing for the mix up and my disappointment with the whole memory card experience. They wanted to make things right and offered me to send a new memory card after all.

This was very nice of them. They were trying to make good for my stupidity of returning the memory card with the camera and despite some misunderstanding between me and them, they came through and send me a new memory card which I received yesterday.

I am more than satisfied with the outcome and once again, laud the company for going out of their way to keep me happy despite some bumps in the way.

Thank you ROVE team, you have my sincerest admiration for setting things right - despite my initial fault.

Finally, as for the camera itself, I've said it before and I'll say it again - it's a wonderful product in its category and the low price makes the deal even more sweeter. Buy it, you won't regret it. It's loaded with features and the picture quality is absolutely awesome. Once you add the $20 filter on it, pictures become even more crisp and vibrant. It's a no brainer!

Just as soon as I posted this 'wonderful' experience from the support team at ROVE Dash Cam, I was informed the whole thing was a huge mistake and they will NOT be sending me the memory card as promised. This was AFTER they sent me a tracking email telling me when to expect it.

According to Jeniffer, the person who was trying to help me, her manager said ROVE was not responsible for my mistake and I should take up my case with �鶹��.

Just to be clear, I NEVER asked them to send me a new memory card; I simply asked them that if they find my memory card in the returned item, I'd appreciate if they would mail it back to me and I'll gladly pay the postage. It was ROVE that got my hopes high and promised to send me a new memory card that I NEVER asked for it.

So after my review below, the whole thing soured within a matter of minutes and left a very bitter taste in my mouth. I've decided it's not worth my time to pursue the case with �鶹�� so I'll just cut my loss and move on but please be aware that the company failed to keep up its words after taking me to a emotional roller coaster ride - not to mention the waste of time in communicating with them and writing the below review on �鶹��.

As for the product, I stand by my comments. 5 stars. But the way they handled my case - 2 stars.

Someone at ROVE will receive the return product and he/she will find my 512gb ROVE memory card in it with my dash cam videos on it. To that person, maybe you'll have more integrity than the company and will mail back my memory card. However, I am not holding my breath.

Folks, before I begin, let me put it in the most simplest way - this is a great product at a wonderful price. If you are in the market of buying a dash cam for your vehicle, buy this ROVE R2-4K PRO Dash Cam with built-in GPS, 5G WiFi and many more amazing features. You can't go wrong. Period!! From unboxing to set-up to the picture quality - everything is simply top-notch.

Now with my story - I bought this dash cam a couple of weeks before the �鶹�� Prime Day for a price of roughly $140. I also bought a ROVE memory card with 512gb capacity and a anti-glare filter to go with the camera. All was going well until �鶹�� Prime Day when the price of this camera dropped to $85. Naturally, I was not too thrilled about it for paying $55 more just a few days ago. Luckily for me, the product was still within the refundable period. So I initiated a refund and reordered the same product - this time for only $85.

So I removed the lens filter from the lens, packed up the product in its original box and dropped it at our local Kohl's drop center for a full refund. Imagine my horror when one day later, I realized that I had left the 512gb memory card ($65) in the camera!!

After cursing myself for a couple of hours for my stupidity, I sent an email to the support department of the ROVE Dash Cam explaining what I had done. At that point I figured I had nothing to lose but there was no harm in taking a chance. Not expecting any response, I resigned to my loss and my mistake preparing myself to forget the whole thing and just buy another memory card.

My frustration, anger, and disappointment turned into excitement when within an hour, I received a reply from Jennifer, a support person at ROVE Dash Cam company, who said she'd do her best to resolve this issue if I could send her the original order # from �鶹��.

Seeing a glimmer of hope ahead of me, I immediately send her the required information and this morning, when I checked the email, I saw Jennifer's response saying she had shipped a new memory card to me without any cost to me.

Now folks, I don't know about you but a company that not only makes a wonderful product but also backs it up with an equally wonderful support is a rare thing these days. They have earned my loyalty for life and I will not only not hesitate in buying their other products but will also encourage people (who are looking for dash cam for their vehicles) to do business with them. With them, not only you get a great product but also a peace of mind. I may sound like a paid customer but trust me, I am not. I am just another regular customer like you who is pleasantly surprised (and satisfied) by this level of customer service.

My heartfelt thank to Jennifer and the entire ROVE team for such a wonderful experience. If I could give them 10 stars, I would in a heartbeat.

With all the crazy drivers around, I thought it would be a good time to get a dash cam. After some research, I decided on the ROVE R2-4K PRO Dash Cam. It has great options to set the resolution of the videos it records and the available space on the micro sd card can be maximized before be recorded over with the loop feature. The dash cam was very easy to install and super easy to operate. The thing that really stands out is the customer service. The cable clips were missing from the packet and I was unable to install the dash cam as the connecting cable would be hanging down. I contacted Rove customer service via a text. They were very quick to respond and of course wanted to verify the packet contents via a picture I took. Within minutes they agreed to send me the cable clips and also sent me a tracking number. Long story short, the cable clips never arrived. I contacted Rochelle, the customer service who had previously assisted me. I let her I had not yet received the cable clips and that they appeared to be lost in the mail. The cable clips were over two weeks late. Rochelle quickly verified the cable clips were not delivered and were overdue. She assured me that they would send out new cable clips and a new tracking number. The new cable clips arrived within 5 days and I was able to install the dash cam. I am quite pleased with the performance of the dash cam. Rove’s customer service is top notch and very willing to make sure everything is right and the customer satisfied.
