I've started on the assembly of this - the whole project will take a while, there is a lot of steps to the assembly. The estimate is 12 hours - I suspect it may even be a little longer for many.
The stamping of the parts is precise. For the most part the parts come out reasonably easily, some tend to stick a little and may cause minor tearing of the wood fibres on punching out, even if very careful but so far this has not caused any significant damage. The instructions have been clear so far, and the parts generally fit fairly well - about as good can be expected for making a machine from wood (I have an issue with the main motor cog that sits a little crooked and seems to resist efforts to straighten it but this may not interfere with operation, remains to be seen).
The kit seems to include most of what will be needed for assembly, there are some basic tools included for removal of plastic burrs, sanding of rough edges and putting in screws. I am hoping no glue is needed, none was included but it did say that glue may not be included in shipping due to shipping restrictions - not sure if that is applicable or if no glue is needed for any part of the assembly.
I may revisit this to update it once assembly is complete.
