How is powered?

The hidden motor, powered by a USB interface.
Any advice on assembly?

Sure! To make it easier, press parts out from the side with thicker cut lines. Check and sand gears to remove any burrs that might cause jamming. Also, waxing all gears and moving parts will help everything run smoothly. Happy building!
