Product Description

HOW TO USE REHOUPTY WALLPAPER ADHESIVE

CLEAN THE SURFACES	Thoroughly clean and dry the surface to be wallpapered. Remove any residue, dirt and old wallpaper. Repair any damage and ensure the surface is smooth.
PRIME THE WALLS	We recommend priming the wall with a primer or base film adhesive before using the product. Priming the wall surface increases adhesion, improves the adhesion and durability of subsequent wallpapers.
CUT THE WALLPAPER	Before applying the wallpaper adhesive, first measure the size of the wallpaper to be pasted with a tape measure, and then cut the wallpaper into long strips with a cutting tool to make it easier to paste.
APPLY ADHESIVE AND STICK	Apply a thin layer of REHOUPTY WALLPAPER ADHESIVE to the back of the wallpaper with a tool such as a squeegee or roller brush. Start from the center of the wallpaper and work towards the edges to create an even layer of adhesive, making sure there is enough adhesive in the joints. Once the wallpaper is fully adhered, it is time to attach the wallpaper to the wall.
NOTE	Using a felt squeegee will minimize scratches. Take care to level the wallpaper and remove any excess adhesive when using it.

REHOUPTY WALLPAPER ADHESIVE CONSIDERATIONS

EVENLY APPLY	Apply wallpaper glue evenly, tightly, without leakage, pay attention not to wrap the edges, pile up or pile up, so as not to dirty wallpaper. This helps to ensure that the wallpaper is pasted flat and avoid bubbles or hollow drums.
WALL PREPARATION	The wall should be clean, flat and dry. The preferred time to paste wallpaper is when the weather is sunny, because this will ensure that the wall is dry, to avoid the paste problems caused by wet walls. When laying wallpaper, the air humidity in the house shall not be greater than 85%.
WINTER SPECIAL TREATMENT	Winter is recommended to use glue thinly applied way to shorten the drying time, effectively avoid wallpaper edge warping, cracking and other phenomena.
TOOLS	When painting the glue, it is best to use special tools, such as squeegee, so that the glue evenly coated in the wall.
USE METHOD	You can apply the glue on the wallpaper and then put the wallpaper on the wall, or directly apply the glue on the wall and then paste the right size of wallpaper, it's up to you what you think will work better without wasting wallpaper and glue.
REPLACEMENT OF WALLPAPER	If you need to replace the wallpaper after using this product, apply water or wallpaper stripper to the wallpaper and wait a few minutes to allow the wallpaper to soak in completely. Use a squeegee to begin stripping the wallpaper from top to bottom.
PAINT THICKNESS	It is recommended that the thickness of the wallpaper glue is about 1 mm. If you apply too much wallpaper glue, when scraping the surface of the wallpaper, the glue will be squeezed and through the wallpaper, which will lead to glue overflow or wallpaper breakage.
TIME OF USE	Wallpaper glue has a wet viscosity, that is, tacky when not dry. Generally applied 5-10 minutes when the viscous effect is better, pay attention to grasp the wallpaper paste time.
PRESERVATION	Please store in a cool, dry place away from light, to avoid long time in the sun under the wallpaper glue exposure. Use up as soon as possible after opening.

I have not used the glue part of this kit yet as the wallpaper I ended up getting is a peel and stick kind. I did use the tools though, and those all came in handy! It's very helpful to have smoothing tool to smooth as you go. The knife is a necessary item when wallpapering. This is a good kit to make sure you have what you need all in one.

I have already used a couple of globs of this wallpaper adhesive from brand REHOUPTY at my Grandmother's home. She has several bathrooms as well as her front entrance way desperately in need of some wallpaper replacement or re-adhesion at the very least, so I have gotten to work on that project thanks to this 5L supply.

Gluing down wallpaper that was lifting at the seam, seems to work great, and I feel fairly confident now after an initial trial run, about working with it going forward. There isn't anything really special to write in detail about wallpaper paste of course, this seems like your typical adhesive to me. But I did note, that as I used a small brush to apply it with, it is going to be very important to use the right tool for t he job if I wish to apply it evenly for larger work.

The paste has a white appearance when first applied, but not to worry: it does dry clear, and is ready to go right out of the pail. Just be sure to stir first, before getting started with application but this brand does seem to have very. good consistency.

Overall, I am very pleased with this tack paste, and I am glad I ordered in a larger size. Now that I know it works well, I have more than a sufficient amount to focus on the larger job ahead. 5 stars.

The REHOUPTY Wallpaper Adhesive performs well—it's a solid glue that adheres wallpaper securely and provides good coverage for large areas. However, the accessories that come with it are disappointing. The smoothing tools feel cheap and aren’t very effective, which was a bit frustrating during application.

If you’re only after good wallpaper glue, this product works great. But if you’re relying on the included tools, you may want to consider purchasing higher-quality accessories separately.

As a paste, this is useful for more than just wallpaper, and I plan on using it for paper crafts such as scrapbooking and cardmaking.

For those curious what this glue is actually made of, the container states that potato is an ingredient in this glue. Based on that note, it does appear to be potato-starch paste glue. The consistency and curing behavior is consistent with that.

The tools provided with the paste were useful and are handy for other tasks around the house. I'd recommend this for wallpaper pasting or for general usage. You're essentially getting an industrial supply of white glue alternative.

I am a hobbyist bookbinder and have been experimenting with all different kinds of glues and pastes for my books to find the best ones for the job at the best price point. I had heard that using wallpaper paste in the place of traditional wheat paste can work so I decided to try this one.

First impressions: I was surprised that it is a clear formula, somehow I missed that in the description, but I was pleasantly surprised by this. It's great since it doesn't leave visible residue. It spreads very easily, making it easy to spread a thin layer without warping the paper or board. It has the consistency of hair gel, but is not sticky, and has no overly noxious scent.
In use, it is perfect for attaching the book cloth to the board or attaching the text block to the cover. The paste is not tacky at all, but still holds once placed. I did have one paper I needed to reposition and it easily peeled away without ripping or pilling the paper, and then placed back down easily.
I placed the books in my press overnight, and 8 hours later the hold is great. No edges coming up or bubbling or buckling which have been problems with some of my other tries. The formula is also not extremely wet, so my boards are beautifully straight after drying in the press. I'll allow the books to finish drying outside the press for the other 8 hours (the bucket suggests 2 hours drying time before light handling and a 16 hour full curing time)
This 5L or 1.32Gal bucket is going to last me a VERY long time and a large amount of bindings, but once I finally do run out I will definitely purchase again. I would definitely recommend this adhesive for bookbinding. I currently live in an apartment so there's no way for me to test out how well it works for its actual intended use, but it seems like it would do well for that as well.
