5.0 out of 5 stars Works great with the switch 2, but some caveats

It's great that this case is officially licensed from Nintendo, for $20 at the time of my purchase, it's a great deal compared to what others charge on the market. Starting from the exterior, the corners feel great and rugged. The corners have great rigidity that I can feel confident that it will be secure when I travel. The zippers feel very good too, feels well lubricated and easy to slide. Opening it up, the interior has a nice felt lining. There is a "protection library" pad that protects the screen of your Switch 2 on top of it holding up to 12 switch cartridge games. Beyond the protection library pad, it holds your two switch joy con bumpers and you can probably store a usb-c charging cable in the center as well. The "protection library" also doubles as a stand, in case you don't want to use your Switch 2 built in stand. There's also some bumpers for people with a regular switch or switch OLED that want to use this case as well, but I'd be confused why you would want to buy a case that's significantly bigger than your console.

But I think this is where I have some gripes with this case.
    1. Without the velcro to secure the switch 2 into the case, there is some give, like 1 cm where the switch 2 can slide left and right in the case.
    2. I wish the bottom was flush against the switch 2 instead of leaving it for the "Game Card Case Storage" which is sold separately. Do you guys actually carry -ALL- your games with you when you travel?
    3. I don't understand why we need the "protection library" pad to be used as a stand for the switch 2. There's a built in stand that I personally feel is significantly sturdier than this 'case stand'. Maybe we could have just got rid of the case stand and made the case thinner?

But again, for the cost of this item and this being officially Nintendo licensed gear, I'd still say this is a great purchase for somebody on the budget and just want something to protect their switch on the go.

I have the RDS case for the Switch 1 and have used it for years. Tt has held up very well. It's got a clean look and is branded just enough. I am glad they kept that same design philosophy when designing the case for the Switch 2.

    Pros:
    - The stand/cushion in the middle protects the screen but also provides some support against the top of the case, allowing the Joy-Con sticks to steer clear of impact or rubbing. One of the main things I was looking for in a case for either Switch was that the sticks are protected, since that seemed to be the primary failure point on the original console.
    - The stand/cushion in the middle can also store carts, though tbh I never trust this type of storage system for carts. At least in this instance they are sort of folded in and there is velcro to keep the flap from opening unintentionally.
    - It comes with 2 small cases about the size of a Switch cart that hold 2 microsd cards each that can slot into the above-mentioned cart storage.
    - There is a dedicated space for Joy-con straps.

    Petty gripes:
    - The Switch 1 version came with game cases that nested into the console case. The Switch 2 version has a space for a game case, but it is sold separately, and at the time of this writing, it doesn't seem to be available yet.
    - It includes some foam pads if you want to put a Switch Lite in, but isn't the point of a Switch Lite to be smaller and more compact? Why would you put it in a much larger case?

I've included some images of the included instructions and packaging, a size comparison to the original case, the inside with and without the system, and the thumbstick clearance.

RDS makes the highest quality Switch and Switch 2 cases. I’ve had the equivalent case for my original Switch, OLED Switch, and now my Switch 2. Very well made and hold up to traveling. I’ve never had any issues.
