I think it's a great film, Luca Guadagnino's best so far. Artful, atmospheric, well acted, makes you think, and presents it's stories and themes in a beautifully unconventional way. All the things great indie cinema should be. If you want a movie where you're spoon-fed cliches, and a Hollywood style happily ever after, go somewhere else. Go watch a Marvel film.

The first chapter is good but the rest is fairly boring!

A very bizarre film. Extremely slow.
I am growing very tired of the old / young guy men theme, the drug and alcohol gay theme and the dysfunctional gay storyline.
I'm also very tired of gorgeous straight Hollywood stars playing gay characters. We neither look like them and they don't share our experiences.
This film perpetuates stereotypical stories and characters.
    The cinematography is the highlight.

The movie was very very hard to understand and plot made no sense.

Weird story. Neither romantic nor erotic. A real dud!

5.0 out of 5 stars Daniel Craig Delivers!

This is another excellent film based upon the literary work of William S. Burroughs (See his "Naked Lunch" also available on 鶹). Daniel Craig portrays the lead character, and he delivers a terrific performance as a chain smoking drunk who is also addicted to drugs. It may be necessary to watch the movie a couple of times to catch all the subtleties and nuances since the script is adapted from the Burroughs text. Well worth owning in blu-ray.

    5.0 out of 5 stars Avant-guard dream-like art film

I would desceibe this movie as an avant guard art film. It follows the story of a gay man and his love of annother man he meets. It is full of relatable experiences and emotions hard to follow sometimes kind of like a dream. The end product was actually quite good in thinking of the movie as whole. Dark intimate complex and even some nudity. Not for everyone but definately different

5.0 out of 5 stars Daniel Craig is stunning

Provacative, sensual and surreal Daniel Craig loses himself in his characters and this is no exception
William Lee is alone and lonely. One is not sure if Eugene was even just another character in his writings?
Very much an art film-visually striking and reminds one of Lynch or Cronenberg
