    A staple for cooking in my house! Feeling lazy? I warm up rice and frozen veg in here. So much gets cooked in here. I have yet to try steaming any fish or the like... but I could see it working. For how much use this gets in my house, I'd buy it again in a heartbeat. I spent ages looking for the perfect one--let me stop you here, because this is the steamer you're looking for; it's just a good value.

    It never boils over, you can heat it and forget it. It's literally the easiest cooking utensil I have in my home. As far as size goes, it's the perfect size for two, maybe three people, though I use it for meal prep so use that information as you will.

    Very annoyingly, there are no instructions included with this cooker. You're completely on your own guessing quantities and cook times.

    I initially tried 1/2 cup of jasmine rice, 1.25 cup of water, cooking for twelve minutes on power level 7, as I did with my old cooker. That did okay, with the rice slightly chewy. It's going to take a bit of trial and error to get it right, perhaps slightly more time and/or more water is required. It claims you can cook up to six cups in the product details, although I haven't need to cook that much so I unfortunately haven't tested. It's pretty compact, but does seem large enough to handle it. I'd recommend doing it without the vegetable compartment installed, as it gathers water that then can't be used to cook the rice.

    My only other complaint is with that "vegetable box". Since its handles are both attached at the center, it has a tendency to tip and dump its contents. Best to be careful and move your hands to the edge as soon as you can.

    Once you get the usage method figured out, though, it works pretty well. I especially the internal strainer. It makes rinsing rice prior to cooking very easy, and also helps keep rice on the bottom from getting soggy. Plastic quality is pretty high, too, feeling very dense and solid. There aren't any nooks and crannies for rice starch to hide while cleaning, something I hated about my last cooker. The spoon has a slight texture on it, to hold rice.

    I'm overall pretty happy with the cooker. My biggest complaint, the lack of instructions, can mostly be overcome with some patience. Compared to my last microwave rice cooker/steamer, this one is definitely easier to clean and has better functionality with the built-in strainer. Pricing isn't too bad, roughly on part with just about every other microwave rice cooker.

    This rice cooker is great for busy days—it’s practical, easy to clean, and simple to operate. You can quickly measure, wash, and cook rice and vegetables without any hassle. The included paddle is handy for both serving and fluffing the rice.

    That said, it didn’t come with an instruction booklet, so I had to rely on the pictures on the box for guidance. There are no specific instructions for cooking times, so you’ll need to experiment with trial and error for different types of rice. It can also be a bit tricky to handle when hot, and the lid doesn’t seal as tightly as I’d like—it would be better if it had a more secure fit.

    Overall, it’s a convenient appliance, but it does require some patience and experimentation to get the best results.
