    This is a nice-looking package. It comes with an onboard and remote LED screen to show system status. The package also includes an accessory package that has battery leads, an AC power cord, fuses, and a tool to push the setting buttons near the onboard screen. The main unit has mounting flanges so you can anchor it.

    The unit is designed to run a sump pump or two from the dual onboard AC 120V outlets in the event of a power outage. You provide your own 12v batteries. It operates like a UPS and sits in standby mode until the grid power goes out then it will provide power from the batteries. The unit can charge a wide range of battery types as shown. I used a lithium iron phosphate battery and the unit charged it properly.

    It functions much like a PC UPS does but the documentation indicates that it is not suitable for sensitive electronic equipment and geared for higher powered devices such as sump pumps and refrigerators.

    The unit operated as it should, and I had no problems with how it operated. I decided to open it up to see how it was put together inside, and everything looked well-made. The one problem I did see was that the nut on the positive battery terminal was not tight. This could cause problems and is not a good thing. I tightened it up myself and put it back together.

    Overall, it was not a bad package, and the unit worked well. Hopefully, they can become aware of the problem with the loose nut and prevent that in the future.

    Oh, how I've been burned in the past! When it comes to keeping your basement dry during a power outage, this sump pump backup system is a must-have for EVERYONE. Its ability to automatically switch from grid to battery power and then back again when the power is restored means you can ensure your home’s sump pump will keep running smoothly even during inclement weather like rainstorms or tornadoes. I owned a sump pump without a battery backup in the past, and when we lost power for a few days, I was dreading having a flooded basement to contend with. This pricey piece of insurance makes sure that your basement is bone dry. It claims to offer six levels of protection and displays voltage parameters and equipment fault analysis, while allowing manual adjustments to output frequency and voltage - fancy!!
    Mine is rated at 2000 watts of power output - plenty of power when I need it the most. I like the terminals and the wires they provide - makes it easy to connect different types of batteries, and replacing the battery is better than having to replace an entire unit WITH the battery if you have a sump pump that includes the battery backup. The build quality is terrific - it looks nice and performs even better! This is one of those things that you'll kick yourself for not investing in one after the damage is done. Do yourself a favor and get this before disaster strikes. You can thank me later.

    This battery backup for my sump pump is pretty cool. I replaced my sump pump recently and kicked myself soon after for not spending the extra money to get one with a built in battery backup. For me personally, my power doesn’t go out frequently… but when it does, it’s usually doing some bad weather event! Wouldn’t you know it, a few months after getting my new sump pump, we had a storm, power went out and my basement started flooding (before I could haul out my portable generator and run an extension cord to the basement to plug in the sump pump).

    I’m not an electrical person so I don’t have a lot of insight on how this backup compares to others. As other reviewers have noted, this device does not come with a battery. You need to get that yourself. It is super simple to setup though and based on my initial tests (unplugging the device to simulate power outage), it seems to work as expected. The device is really heavy duty and seems to be built to last (hopefully the internals are also high quality).

    I haven’t got to see it in action during a real outage yet, but based on my initial tests, I’d recommend to others.
